Very poor from Al Dakhil, miss controls the ball initially and gives a stonewall penalty away trying to make up for it

AAD took him out. Didn’t get anywhere near the ball.
Not a dive at all

AAD almost gets one back.

They should have been out of sight a while ago. What a brutal run of games this has been. Hitting most of the very good teams when they are in brilliant form.
We need some confidence and VK needs to find answers to these excellent presses.

He’s been ripped apart literally every game thread. The hypocrisy is these same people ignore the same mistakes by everyone else and can’t find it in themselves to admit Trafford has done well.burnleymik wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:36 pmWho blamed Trafford? Odobert has looked good again.
Berge with a decent layoff. Probably the best corner routine of the year which came to nothing but at least we won a header.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
There's always someone who makes a comment like this.
We've been poor. Excellent opposition, yes. That goes without saying, it's that way most weeks in this league. But we've been poor. And to say that, on a Burnley message board, is pretty okay.

It was his poor kick initially, gave it straight back to them when the pass was square to his left. Saying that , awful defending and I think generally Trafford is doing ok

Which posts? I can only remember those saying he made some great saves, but has struggled with distribution or along those lines. None has blamed Trafford for where we are right now, or have they?

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Been really poor today all over the pitch. 2-0 flatters us.
Worried about the midweek as that is really must win (yes, even in October, when you’ve made the start we have) on account of that being the ‘easiest’ fixture we’re likely to ever get at this level. When you start the season like we have it dumps all the pressure on a game like that, and Luton’s tails will be right up after today should they hold that win.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
We are a team who are one of the favourites to be relegated away to one of the richest clubs in the world who are in the Champions League and have defended well and have created some good chances. Yes we’ve been a bit naive, particularly with some of the passing around the back but overall there aren’t many negatives.

And Luton are exactly the sort of team we struggled against last season, when we were arguably better than we are this.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:42 pmBeen really poor today all over the pitch. 2-0 flatters us.

I think some of you must be trolls. I've never seen such negativity so early in the season. Sofa tacticians thinking they know more than VK, with no resilience to face difficult times. With friends like you, who needs enemies. Give the team a chance!

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
the difference in this league is you have to move the ball quickly we don't move it quickly enough and get crowded out .
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
The run of fixtures has been a shocker and given we should have had 3 points at Forest gives me hope moving forward.
Fair to say today has been a complete mis match though.

The fact we’ve played 5 games against teams in Europe and scored a point away to a team in and around us when if not for VAR being incorrect we would have won. Ignore all of that and he’s right.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:42 pmWe are 6 games in and have 1 point.

Odobert looks good. Him one side and Koleosho the other would cause all kinds of problems. Really missing the physicality of Foster.

Was the same last season at this stage. Trolls calling VK out. They went a bit quiet by Christmas. Weak characters.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
I can’t say we have defended well. It should be at least 4-0 but for two excellent saves from Trafford. We have created a couple of decent openings but our profligacy in front of goal is one of our biggest issues.Foshiznik wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:43 pmWe are a team who are one of the favourites to be relegated away to one of the richest clubs in the world who are in the Champions League and have defended well and have created some good chances. Newcastle are a good side and losing is no disgrace. It’s the manner of it. We have been so naive, so careless and haphazard in midfield and defence. It’s easy to say ‘Saudi billionaires, Champions League etc etc’ but we have bloodied loads of noses of teams far better than this over the years at this level. I had hope today, I certainly thought if we played like we did against United we’d give them a good game. We simply haven’t been in the game after the first ten minutes.

Am I wrong though? The critics seem to be ignoring the opposition we face, the age of our team etc. I don't see why some people watch us, if they are always so negative.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
You can find excuses for anything if you look hard enough.
It’s not inaccurate to say we have struggled in the league so far. We don’t score goals and we concede a lot. Right now it’s not wrong to say we don’t look PL quality.
That doesn’t mean we won’t. But right now we look miles off it. Let’s be honest if it wasn’t for Trafford making some top quality saves this should have been another 4-5 Nil loss

That’s fair and I can see your point. I think as a unit we have defended pretty well, but maybe I’m clutching at straws to keep perspective/positive moving forward.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:46 pmI can’t say we have defended well.
