If JBG is to come back, I wonder if that means 1 or 2 wide men leaving for a fee.
Whether or not we are winger heavy. Minimum 2 will be sold.

Will be delighted if this comes off. Only player I really think has the vision and ability to unlock a defence consistently and also our only dead ball expert.

Was surprised and disappointed he wasn’t retained so very happy if he stays.

At this level his quality and consistency is invaluable and shouldn't be underestimated because he is '34'...........Pepe played in the Euro's this summer at 41, these lads are fit nowadays. This would give us a big lift imho.

I believe he was offered a new deal which he therefore must have turned down at the time.

JBG, brought up in a country with a huge life expectancy, where they're taught to live well and not to take things too seriously. Barely drinks, doesn't smoke, has lived the life of a professional athlete for longer than he hasn't lived the life of a professional athlete Goes home to a goddess every night.

His 34 is your 25.

How can people not want a player who created the most chances for us in the Premier League, playing mainly as a sub. He seems to be injury free now as well, touch wood.

I was absolutely gutted that we couldn’t sort a deal out for him prior to him leaving. I felt he’d be exactly what we need
in the championship with his experience. If there is a possibility he would sign again for us I'd be over the moon.

People are now realising how toxic and awful Kompmay was and is.

He was a legend in his own mind, and will continue to alienate those who can see through his ‘winners’ mindset…

Bellamy called him out and was publicly chewed up, more than one player in the squad stood with Bellamy and they too got the ‘treatment’.

He’s petulant and arrogant and I hope he stays in Germany!

I was told a series of disagreements and arguments that led to the inevitable parting of the ways. Takes two to have a situation like that with fault on both sides admittedly but I was told that you didn’t question Kompany.

I suppose there's a few ways to look at that. One is to question whether this is another sign that Bellamy is too volatile to be a good coach/manager. He tends to make enemies wherever he goes. I'm just glad we saw sense and didn't give him the head coach role.

You’re only the boss if you’ve got credibility. Anyone who has to say that they’re the boss (repeatedly) isn’t the boss…

People will turn on them…

You’re only the boss if people believe in you and value you. If you belittle people’s ideas and inputs and turn them into nothing more than a puppet, you’re not the boss…

If you have total disregard and disrespect for what went before you’re not the boss and the culture will eat you…

Kompany wasn’t a good boss.

I’d heard something similar with Bellamy putting ideas of changes to be made to the lineup and playing style annd even changes during the games, only to be ignored.

I thought that's exactly what Massengo is? I recall him sitting just in front of Brizzle's defence when he came on against us at the Turf.

There's also CJ Egan-Riley, who could be a rotation option at DM. Who knows, I wouldn't completely write him off.
Played there in the early part of his career. I would say the last 60-70 games of his career (out of 110 apps) have all come at Cm. I would say he’s more a natural replacement for Brownhill than anyone else

Absolutely over the moon with this.

Not only is he a great character off the field, he will be good for the dressing room as well. He can play on the right and as a number 8 (which I think is his best position). He's one of those players who I think has improved with age.

Thought he was Iceland's best player against England the other month as well

It might have been in the name of winning, but it certainly wasn’t in the reality of winning.

However much Parker wasn’t my first choice, I’m so glad that Kompany has gone and I’m genuinely looking forward to this season again now .

If anybody is in doubt, that it was Kompany's way or the highway, then just look at the interview after the Chelsea away game. Working for a manager who stifles independent thought and speech must be horrendous.
Perhaps if Bellamy was listened to we might have stayed up.

Yep, I’ll never forget how strange that interview was.

“You’ve got to remember he’s my boss” was all he would say when asked to comment on the sending off. I’d not heard a response like that before from an assistant manager who usually work in partnership with the manager.
