Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Makes sense to give Stephens a run out prior to the Leeds game, he can only add to our midfield options.

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Central midfield totally non existent yet again
Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
The commentators...
"Dale Stephens hasn't seen ANY action in the 2021/2022 campaign."
"Stephens hasn't the light of day since February."
If poor Dale Stephens isn't raring to go after those two revelations...!

How can one of our most dependable players of the last few seasons have gone to **** this quick???
Maybe it's the hairloss.
It got Hart and it got Barnes!

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
McNeil on the right is a waste of a player and for me a key element in our sub par performances this season. Dwight excels on the left, is a respectable option in the centre, but his one footed reliance makes him something of a liability on the right.
And yet, this season, we consistently play McNeil on the right. Nice to see him playing on the left in the second half.

I agree. He’s been the real positive tonight. I would be tempted to start him on Sunday as well

Yep, it has to be said, and loudly.
Not one person on here (myself included) saw Lennon starting and was enthused at the prospect.
He’s done more in this 65 minutes than Gudmundsson (for example) has done all season. His shirt at Leeds for me (though perhaps on the wing if Cornet is back).

It'll be foolhardy to go to Leeds with this starting 11 and bench in what is a must not lose imo

If Cornet is fit for Leeds:
Hennessy
Lowton Tarky Mee Taylor
Cornet Westwood Cork McNeil
Lennon
Wood

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
I don't think it can be classed as foolhardy if those absent still can't make it.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:43 pmIt'll be foolhardy to go to Leeds with this starting 11 and bench in what is a must not lose imo

Stollen from twitter
Aaron Lennon & Cristiano Ronaldo are the only two players to score in the Premier League in both 2005-06 and 2021-22

Cornet will at best make the bench. I can't see Dyche starting him with so little game time + injury + covid.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:43 pmIf Cornet is fit for Leeds:

I’m surprised he has taken Lennon off there. Thought he was getting better as the game progressed.

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Baffling you leave JBG on ahead of Lennon. He didn’t look in the least bit tired! Can only assume we’re saving him for Leeds.
