I was speaking to a few in the pub before the game who said exactly the same thing. The general perception of football messageboards is that they provide a minority with a platform to moan and a lot of fans avoid them as a result. I think it’s the same with anything though these days. Music, other live events etc. Comments posted on messageboards, social media etc can give a totally false representation of the reality.

At someone has said above, you absolutely can tell some posters (notable by their absence) were very disappointed at how smoothly things went yesterday.
There's a lot of irony in saying that a messagboard of Burnley fans is any less representative of a fan base than the few people you speak too in the pub or are in your demographic of family and friends.

I generally find that the extreme views on either side shout the loudest- the same with most social media platforms (but it doesn't mean that there aren't sensible folk with balanced opinions too).

That picture is an accident waiting to happen.
It’s really not that bad. Hardly noticed a difference from how it was last season. People move at a sensible pace and it doesn’t feel unsafe.

In as much as I noticed a difference getting out of the JML on Saturday as opposed to last season, it's that the denser crowd you always get at the pinch point by the club shop now starts a fair bit earlier.

That's all it is though; a bit busier by the exit I normally use.

Let's say it's 1-1 on Saturday, an afternoon kick off, a close finish so not many leave early. 5 minutes later you've got around 14,000 people leaving via this. It will probably all be fine, it'll certainly take a while though.

Interesting pic from page 1, you’d have to find somewhere else for the cars to park if you need open the other half of the gate.

those cars couldn't be (and aren't) parked there on a match day. They are right in front of the lower tier turnstiles

Never had a problem at OT. I was talking about that particular picture specifically and not any other ground.
Neither have I, but you could take 10 similar photos to the one you're concerned about, all round the ground.
Just shows it happens at almost every ground, without incident

Just for example Hillsborough it was an accident /incident waiting to happen, and happened, I had concerns about it v Newcastle in the semi final, when we my feet hardly touched the ground for 75 minutes after they let geordies in our end. Some might not have envisaged it then, but here we are.
And on a side note, whose stupid idea was it to park the Sunderland buses right in the middle after the game.

The inconvenience for me is neither here nor there…or at worst a first world problem. I left in time added on and had an extra 200 yards to jog, before setting out on my long journey home. My safety concerns remain, however, as I think funnelling 14,000 people through a six/seven yard gap is asking for trouble.

If you've been worried since 1974 I'm surprised you still go, and geordies were in there because we didn't sell our allocation

Completely different circumstances, and Completely absurd to bring that up to try and prove a point.

The biggest potential crowd crush incident at Turf Moor has been removed. The CFS concourse was crazy at times last season.

As mentioned the crowd behind the JM yesterday looks busy, but we’ll see that numerous times at grounds this year. The staircase from Leaze’s terrace back towards the town, the tunnel exits from Old Trafford, the bottle necks around Brentford entrance being three I can think off the top of my head.

3 more, the Trent side exit from Forest, the Riverside from Fulham and the exit from Everton onto the dock front looks small.

The improvement in the CFS concourse for home fans is very welcome. But has anything changed, other than the "potential crowd crush" risk in the CFS being away fans rather than home fans?

Yes, they have 2 staircases. We only had one.

Now we only have one, but the location of toilets and concessions have been thought out well. Now we don’t have queues to purchase beer right at the bottom of the only access to and from the stand. To purchase beer you have to go into the “fanzone/carpark”. So you have to leave the concourse crush area to get a beer.

Thank you. Was a genuine question as I'm in JHU. Good to hear.

Come 200 miles to be refused entry with my digital card for CFS - absolute sh!t show. Been sent to ticket office with everyone else refused entry.

I notice Alan isn’t doing any walkabouts today.

The chap who I tried to reason with at the turnstile had to get security to escort me away because I was angry.
My 5-year-old great niece was in the same boat, her supposed digital card not allowing her entry. Not sure how that got resolved. But I went into the club shop to buy some programmes and tried to use my digital card to get the points. "They don't work," the lad behind the counter told me and suggested I didn't try using it at the turnstiles.

Alan was too busy welcoming the players to his new super players' entrance apparently. I'm told he was getting some abuse too because of the new arrangement but I suspect it won't bother him.

Geordies in our end at Hillsborough? Wasn't it us getting some tickets in the Kop that day? Very much an accident waiting to happen and that was before the fences went up.

The question of the two Sunderland buses is a good one. Absolutely ridiculous for them to be there. It's a long time since I left our ground in such a crowd like that too.
