A few weeks ago I posted a link to David Murrin, who calls himself a global forcaster. Here is another more recent link. As well as being a student of geopolitics, he is also very knowledgeable in the area of warfare, weapons, etc. Oh, yes, and he was a hedge fund manager for many years. The link below is around 1 hour 42 minutes long. I watched it in its entirety in manageable chunks, and I found it a fascinating mix of the current and likely future of the Ukraine/Russia situation, the dangers around China's expansionist ideals, coupled with the likely impact of current events on financial markets.

David has strong views in how he would respond to Russia – you stand up to a bully! This is a 'must watch' for anyone who is actively involved in investing. Wealthy investors pay a hefty fees for his advice. Most of the investment discussion is towards the end.

Inflation peaking at 3 to 4 times the 70s high & oil at 300 to 400 dollars a barrel. Forecast by 2025-27 if I understood correctly

While they have obviously had successes, they also to be losing badly in the East.

I don’t think that is 100% correct they are respected as one of the best but I wouldn’t think above all others Seals and Delta in the US are just as respected for instance. I would be surprised if UK SF would be involved in something like what the Russians suggested anyway, if it would be any UK agency I would expect someone like MI6 not that we did what they suggested.

The East and South are more favourable ground for the Russians than the North and don’t forget they already had formed bases in them locations. The fact Mariopol is still standing (sort of) whilst being surrounded for over a month is remarkable and although it is highly likely that the Russians will take it, it will be a very hollow victory.

Are we an easy target? Or does it fit with the Ukrainian narrative about what we have done maybe we have done more than any of us realise. They have said very little directly about the US it has always been perceived smaller nations mainly us.

If I had to guess from here, if Russia takes Mariupol it will declare its "victory" and then wonder why everything just doesn't suddenly stop and go back to normal

There is a massive build up of Russian troops in the Donbas, all analysts think a new attack will happen within a few days.
Unfortunately for the Russian army, rain is predicted for the next few weeks so they will again have to stick to the roads.

They also predict the biggest tank battle in human history.

We will see who is right.

Signs earlier this week that Ukraine was actually goading Russia to attack in the East. The sensible blackout on Ukraine movements mean we cannot be sure, but it certainly came across Ukraine are ready for them and the quicker they can get Russia to rush in the better they’ll like it. Can Russia resupply its forces quicker than Ukraine… looking highly doubtful. The bits of news we are getting suggesting Ukraine is still picking off low hanging fruit while Russia continues to try to bulldoze its way through. The supplies being promised and sent in suggest a storm awaits the advance.

I’d be very surprised if we are not being spoon fed ‘what is being sent’ to show build up continues rather than to let us know what is actually being sent, we know Turkey have previously sent attack drones for example, only after they struck.

On the site that logs confirmed losses, it’s up to 2850 and 498 tanks. Now I know he has a big backlog of photo and videos to go through so it difficult to know if losses have slowed or not as he is adding about the same each day but probably from the backlog.
