I wonder how much playing each week matters to Josh. It may be a challenge at Everton

Because it "appeared" it was basically all wrapped up days ago, including the medical and we were supposedly well down the road with Broja before we started sniffing round Les. Obviously I could be wrong and tbh I hope I am because he could potentially be a brilliant signing, but things don't tend to be "imminent" in the transfer business for 4 or 5 days.

How do you know we didnt have a good sniff of big Les before then nipping out for a cheeky sniff around the back to check on BrojaDark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:42 pmBecause it "appeared" it was basically all wrapped up days ago, including the medical and we were supposedly well down the road with Broja before we started sniffing round Les. Re: Summer transfer window
A striker may or may not be the difference between staying up and helping our finances or going down and going through the whole uncertainty once again. It doesn't have to be Broja, who has question marks already over his injury record, but who a lot of fans are willing to take a risk on. Fair enough.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:34 pmThe Broja deal has got to be a dead duck after all this time. If it isn't and he's actually announced as joining I'll be pretty surprised.
If the club are being messed around by this agency ( reps) I trust the club to do the right thing and take up other options that are still out there.

Salech for Cardiff looks a class above. He will go on to gave a great career and he would imo be worth signing to develop

Re: Summer transfer window
Last season Brownhill scored 18 goals playing a position, a more advanced role, than he’s never been required to previously play. Possibly Everton or other PL teams sniffing around him have recognized he could be an asset for a PL club playing that role and are willing the shell out the big bucks?

Re: Summer transfer window
Fair play to Josh if he can earn that amount of money at Everton.
I still wish he’d stayed with us and it isn’t sour grapes but I can’t see him being a regular stater for Everton.
He’d have been better joining Toronto, earning some big bucks and playing week in, week out if that was ever an option for him.

Re: Summer transfer window
Good luck to Josh if he signs for Everton but it has to be a downgrade for them from Doucoure. Josh as we know bags plenty in the EFL but in the PL even attacking midfielders of the quality of Maddison, Eriksen or Ward Prowse struggle to score at will and Josh is way short of those guys. If they play him as a 6 or an 8 he struggles even more.

Broja's agent is FA Sport.
Looks like Broja along with Levi Colwill are their biggest clients by some distance, I hope they know what they are doing for the sake of the player.

Re:Salech.
Watched him tonight in third tier and he never troubled Debrah. Saw him have some decent games last season but he's not PL ready and that’s what we need.

Does anyone have any information on what sort of game time Broja, Ugochukwu and Dubravka have had this pre-season?

Dubravka has played 45 mins.
Chelsea haven't played any pre season games yet. Not sure if they have featured in any behind closed door games.

Respected BBC journo (yes they do exist) Kinsella reckons Broja has now given green light for the move. I take that to mean the agent holding out for something has now ended.

Re: Summer transfer window
Probably rubbish as it's very sketchy, but this has cropped up on the TransferFeed app in the last couple of hours. Seems to suggest some kind of exchange deal involving Broja, unless I'm reading it wrong? :-
However, yesterday Fabrizio Romano stated that Chelsea weren't looking to replace Colwill, as they have Hato to cover LCB:- https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1953568986727071801

An extremely strange falling out do that's all I can say. At the time with kompany overseeing the relegation & subsequently leaving I think some people wanted to paint kompany as an argumentative control freak & the falling out story served that cause.Claretfanatic1982 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 11:56 amExactly, there was no public fall out at all.
