What do you expect, its the same thread we have people saying Mason Mount is no good.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 3:46 pmYou’ve got to love this board
Hamer is overweight and sulks a lot
He was the best player in the championship last year and the main reason Sheff United got as many points as they did.
De Souza was decent but when we played them at the end of the season he couldn’t get near Hannibal. And despite a few burnley fans before the game saying how unfit and overweight Hamer was he showed why he was the best player on the pitch (bar Esteve)
Would be an excellent signing - but think there’s going to be a few teams after him including Leeds.
And still think we need another striker in addition to Broja as even if we got a player like Hamer we need someone who is good enough to make the runs and be on his wavelength….and then good enough to covert enough of the chances he is creating

Nobody said he sulks a lot. It's hilarious how people read something and then just create there own made up version of it whilst ironically trying to act intellectually superior.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 3:46 pmYou’ve got to love this board

I said he would likely sulk if he were involved in another relegation IMO, and by sulk I mean would look to leave in the same way Berge did. Another one who gave it a year in the champ with Sheff utd but was unwilling to do so again, rightly so at his age.
I don't see him as a replacement for Brownhill for that reason, we need to be careful to ensure things don't collapse if we are to be relegated. Brownhill has been a huge part of that in the last couple of promotion seasons through his leadership. I think it's important we maintain that, which I don't think replacing Brownhill with Hamer does.

You did have him down as someone who sulk if we went down though I’m not sure what this is based on.
We need to accept that if we get relegated then it’s inevitable that a number of the better players are going to want to leave. Pretty sure Esteve would want to leave for example but none of us would say he is likely to sulk.

Re: Summer transfer window
Perfect move for him at this stage in his career.
Looks like a genuine finisher in the Mark Robins mould.
Re: Summer transfer window
Yes that's my opinion from watching years of football. He'd be a player in his peak years, with no reason to show us any loyalty and has proven himself to good for the Champ. I really doubt he'd stay if we went down.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 4:34 pmOk apologies you didn’t say he sulks a lot.

Maybe sulk was the wrong word, my point was I don't think he's someone you could hang your hat on to lead the dressing room in the way Brownhill did, which is what I was responding to.

It is if they’re only fit enough to do that for 60-70 minutes.

Still only 19 and this will do him the world of good with regular pro football.
Its good to see the young lads now being fixed up with career progressing moves.

Re: Summer transfer window
I know there has been some conjecture in relation to selling players.
As far as I can tell these are the players we need to sell/loan?
I think Green will miss out and go on loan, Hdladky will stay as the number 2 with Weiss as number 3.
Delcroix will stay if SP sees him as good enough cover at LCB whilst Humphreys injured, otherwise we sell and replace.
Am I missing anyone as there doesn't seem the urgency I assumed was required?
Sonne - Loan
Benson - Sell
Green - Loan
Banel - Loan
Sambo - Loan
Delcroix - Keep/Sell
Churlinov - Sell
Obafemi - Sell
Ageyi - Injured
Amdouni - Injured

Re: Summer transfer window
Doesn't look to be an update, just a rehash of the news from the weekend.
Re: Summer transfer window
Let's stop talking about Hamer please, he has never been linked to us. When he is, then fair game.
Re: Summer transfer window
I think football is behind other sports (rugby comes to mind) in expecting players to be able to play 90 minutes every week rather than telling them that they'll be coming off on 60 minutes and play with an intensity to match that. I think it was Eddie Jones who rebranded subs as "finishers".
With the 5 subs now it isn't like you need to save the subs in case someone is injured.

Re: Summer transfer window
Westley move is a bit odd, as it’s looked nailed on for weeks that he’d be going back to Swindon, where he obviously played under Holloway last year.
I noted that before the weekend, Dundee were the favourites to get relegated out of the SPL. Wonder how much the club have nudged him in that direction. A ‘strategic partner’, or whatever we are calling them, playing at that lower level is far from ideal. I imagine anything up to 3 loanees might also pitch up there in the next month.
Sacha T was linking Hamer as close to getting a move to PSV about 3 weeks ago.

Even Bauress didn’t make it to League One. Just goes to show how difficult it is.burnleytom wrote: ↑Sun Jul 27, 2025 3:05 pmThe step from U21’s to League One is still huge. Most of the lads, if not all of them, that we’ve got out to that level are the more ‘senior’ of the youth players, and those who have had loans at Football League level already. Those in that position, have either left (Richardson, Costelloe), or are about to leave, in the case of Dodgson.
Getting anyone out and being a starter at League Two level is good for us. Outside of Bauress and McDermott, and possibly the lad who did the year at Dundee, I’d suggest Mellon is the only one likely to get a club at League One level.

If he progresses into the player we think he could do then we will have first refusal to sign him back.
Scottish Premier or League Two, sadly for Swindon its a no brainer.

On the other hand playing for a lower team in his division means he is up against better defenders. Long term this could make or break him. Re: Summer transfer window
On the 23rd July I posted that after the Trafford dealwas done a prediction that we would sign a striker, a defensive midfielder one of which would be a club record fee for an incoming transfer and a replacement GK. Although they haven't actually completed yet I think you must admit that my prediction was absolutely spot on. Broja, Les and Dubravka look to be on the way. I made a second prediction for the days just before the window closes so we will see how that goes. I'm still quite confident.
With regard to wanting a pint of whatever I am drinking I am open to negotiations on a transfer deal, permanent mind no options or obligations to buy as part of any loan deal. I do have a buyout clause of 3 cases of what I am drinking. Any transfer of drinks information also has an add on of two extra tins every time you have a bit of inspiration to make a prediction of your own as a result of using my specialist football transfer skills. Of course you have to implement the full set of instructions to be able to invoke my special powers.
You have to have imbibed a set amount of the beer I am drinking, wear a Burnley shirt of course, recite the mantra " my favourite football transfer prediction drink is ****** but of course I can't tell you that until the transfer has been agreed and completed. You have to do this when the sun is about to go down and you have to spin round 5 times in a clockwise direction and then ask for divine intervention by the footballing gods.
I'm not ITK, don't have any connection to players, agents or the club but I do have football transfer prediction special powers given to me by the footballing gods. Yes I have obviously imbibed a little more than I should. I did get the prediction right though. Cheers.

So then, Nostradamus, after these three: another striker & midfielder, one of which will be a club record, two loans incoming and 10-12 outgoings.
Lot to look forward to then

My guess Broja has failed his medial which I think we is good and we dodged a bullet.
All the transfer rumours are just agents using Burnley to put their players in the shop window.

Sounds like Dubravka saw a specialist for a shoulder issue instead of going to South Korea with the rest of Newcastle’s squad. Howe says he’s had an injection and should be okay. But I wonder if this forces us elsewhere. Time ticking on a keeper!
