Just make sure John Salako isn't doing it. What a shambles the 2nd round draw was!

I bet there are millions of football fans in the UK going to wait up for this, NOT, and truthfully they would be better giving the money to a charity than flying all over the world on there jollies, they will certainly be added to my "Prick list".

Will the posters and readers of Up the Clarets be expecting its editor to be available to report on the draw?

League Cup Irrelevant
Has the league cup totally lost any credibility now?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40998964
Do you think Dyche will pick a strong side or will it be a 2nd XI?

We'll lose on pens. They'll claim it as a win. We'll say it was pens and the unbeaten run goes on.
Unfortunately the manager considers the cups irrelevant.

Re: League Cup Irrelevant
Hard to say it's irrelevant to Sean Dyche.
He has other priorities but played teams strong enough to win at Vale and Accy, the players just blew it.
I think he'll give the squad players a run out, and with our squad they should have the ability to beat bastards, whether they do or not is down to the players not Dyche.

We need to humiliate Rovers!
What a boost that would be for whole the Club.
I for one would like to win the league cup as well.

If you think it's irrelevant just take a look at all the uproar regarding the draw.

How is it going to get anyone interested in it by doing the draw at 4 in the morning? Most people will just wait until they get up to find out who they have drawn.cricketfieldclarets wrote:I dont mind the foreign draws. Interest needs revamping.

Am I the only one who thinks this a good time? We will all still be out celebrating beating Bastards at that hour when we draw Accy at home for another revenge dish!

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
One advantage of the shambles they make of these draws. Even if we get knocked out by Blackburn, there's still a chance of getting a good draw for the third round.

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
"There will be no live coverage anywhere of the draw - on television or online - but details will be released on social media."
But remember - it's not a round-the-world jolly. It's essential they're in Beijing for this round.

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
Is the first round of the League cup drawn in regions or is it just coincidence.
If you draw an imaginary line across the country only Leeds v Newport seems to break the rule by any distance. May be it's always the case but I have never noticed it before.

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
This is the second round, but yes, it was drawn in regions. Newport were put in the north because they wanted an away game, and so did West Ham, and the Football League was unable to work out that just pre-drawing those teams as "first away team" and "second away team" would easily solve that. So they made Newport honorary northerners.Archie Claret wrote:Is the first round of the League cup drawn in regions or is it just coincidence.

Judging by our recent 'success' in the cups, I fear we won't need to be worried by the 3rd round draw

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
Last season it was just the first round that was split into two regions but they've done the same this year with the second round.Archie Claret wrote:Is the first round of the League cup drawn in regions or is it just coincidence.

Newport and West Ham had been given special dispensation that they could play away from home if they were drawn at home because, for two different reasons, their grounds are not available. The only problem was should they be drawn together so to avoid that possibility they placed Newport in the northern half of the draw. Newport were actually drawn at home but played last night at Leeds.

Re: League Cup 3rd round draw
I heard there was confusion in the dress rehearsal for the draw in China when the ball numbers came out like this:
47 v 3
14 v 19
22 v 37
36 v 15
and we ended up with
Chicken in Black Bean sauce away at Prawn Wonton
Salt & Pepper Chips at home to Crispy Duck
Kung Po Chicken v Szechuan Beef
King Prawn in OK Sauce v Pork Foo Yung
47 v 3
14 v 19
22 v 37
36 v 15
