To be honest I personally would have been happy with Lennon and GK at the start of the transfer window providing nobody left. Injured players coming back into the team will be like new signings.

Does that mean players getting injured will be like selling someone?

It is what it is.
We've got this far, got a couple of wingers in and whilst we'd all like to various extra players we only need a few more points to be safe.
Onwards we go and see how we end up, but the most important thing is survival, anything extra is a bonus.

SD describes James Tarkowski as "touch-and-go" for Wednesdaywith a groin injury. In addition, Steven Defour is to see a specialist regarding a knee injury.
I’m more concerned with this part of the press conference tbh

Disappointing really key players missing in key areas and an unwillingness to really boost our chances of pushing Leicester for 7th place.

No surprise there.
Could have done with a centre back in though.

Still probably a central defender down but other than that, injuries apart, we are looking stronger with the two additions

So Tarkowski's touch and go. Wood was touch and go a month ago and hasn't been seen since.
Are we sure we can get to the end of the season with Long in defence and no backup?

Gonna be a new "Brian Stock Day" by the time we sign a centre back.

The job for the season is 99% complete. That's all they care about. No point in spending money in their eyes.
I was quite sure before the window opened that no business would be done, unless someone (lennon) came up cheap.
I can kinda understand it but shouldn't the foundation for next season be worked on now?

I don't understand why we couldn't have used up some of the income from next seasons TV to try and really push for 7th

Defour to see a specialist, that doesn't sound good, Marney has done his knee, Tarky a groin. Wood back in light training.

We've still got last season's money to spend yet

Agreed, when we’re not carrying any injuries to the spine of the team.
We’re still weak right down the centre and there’s a significant drop in quality once you go beyond the first choice CBS, CMs and Wood.
The depth is really in the full back and wide mid areas.

If there is no cb it is staggering. That's around a year since we must have known that keano was off. 3 for 2 key positions is simply barmy. Talk about pushing your luck.

Defour, Tark, Walters, Heaton, Ward, Brady, Wood all out injured yet no real attempt to even try and boost the squad and get out of the rut we're in.

We have a squad that's being used, that's what the other players are there for.
We have a limited number of players we can use unless we go out and sign a raft of players under a certain age.
It's a squad game.

We should all be grateful for that wonderful night against Stoke.
That terrible game will be the peak of supporting Burnley for a generation.

Staggering it may be to you but it certainly isn't to Sean Dyche. I thought there might be interest this window in a younger player and I do believe we tried to get in Worrall from Forest before Warburton & McParland left, but there was never any plan to bring a central defender in last summer.

I frigging hope not, if he's deemed a worse option than Charlie Taylor at CB - i hope its because he's off to play regular football for a lower league team on a perm basis.

Dyche himself at this rate, we could do with a right back if Lowton is now deemed surplus to requirements because Bardsley is just ass.

Same as it has been all season. Not saying I agree, but Anderson will go back out on loan.

We're watching an amazing start fritter away into just survival in front of our eyes. There's nothing wrong with survival but after that great start and 7th place a real possibility we had a massive chance to go one step further and qualify for Europe. Imagine that? The reality is now we're likely to finish around 12th with injuries all over the place and a feeling of ''what if''. What IF Dyche was given a transfer budget, WHAT IF we signed cover in the summer to replace injured players, WHAT IF we didn't make profit in the summer window, It leaves a sour taste really to not make the most of the great start.

Pretty sure Ward has played centre back before. Then again when he was at Wolves he seemed to play a different position every week!

Ward isn't fit to play so how can he cover?

How would you make space in the squad though?
Apart from signing players under a certain age.

I would guess that this would indicate that Wood is not far off being fit enough to play
I would also say that the situation would be different if we were only on 24 points and not 34

The time to attract players is when you're riding high, like we were at the start of the month. As it is we'll probably have a terrible end to the season and be back to square one this summer.

If this transfer window ends with us only having 3 recognised central defenders in a squad of 25 then something is wrong with our forward planning (would not be surprised if Anderson has been called back purely as further cover)
Can Nahki Wells play there ?

If Wells plays there we are well and truly Nahkered

Don't often agree with his comments but this is exactly how I feel. Let's hope season ticket holders don't have similar views.

We have space in the squad. Brady can be removed, arguably Ulvestad could be removed and probably Walters and maybe even Marney, plus we only had a 24-man squad.

Seeing a specialist about Defour’s knee - that sounds much longer term. If that’s the case I’m hoping it’s not a midfield two of Westwood and Cork, I’d rather drop Hendrick back and have someone else playing in the hole.
With all these injuries I’d have hoped for a centre half and a central midfielder.
I still wouldnt be surprised if we did sign one or two, be it on loan or permanent.

best chance ever to attract players and whilst I'm delighted with GK and AL signing I'm still a little surprised if this news is correct (especially given Defour's potential issue).

Dyche didn't deny the Holding rumour, can understand it now if Tarky is "touch and go" which in Dyche speak he's out for a couple of months.

I would reserve Judgement until the window closes Wednesday night.
Then IF we have to go with what we have got, then people can rightly point fingers and ask questions.
However, I think it will only be tongues wagging come Thursday.

In The Times today: among deals that could go through before transfer window closes
Joe Worrall
Nottingham Forest to Burnley
Fee: £11m
Captained England’s Under-20s to success in the Toulon Tournament in the summer and says he does not want to leave Forest. Should Burnley fail, they have earmarked Rob Holding on loan from Arsenal.
Chances of happening: 6/10
Of course, above was published Sunday evening, so maybe Sean Dyche now knows that neither Worrall nor Holding is happening.
It doesn't sound to me as though Sean hasn't been given the budget to add to the team/squad - just that, as always, it's proving difficult to get deals done.

Don’t understand what all the panic is suddenly about.I think Sean and the back room staff know what is the long term injury situation better than we do and they don’t seem to be panicking to buy players in the window where you tend to get ripped off.As for all this talk of not going for 7th place think some are getting a little ahead of themselves.Whilst it would be nice to finish 7th let’s be realistic in where we are in our development.Leicester have a lot to answer for winning the Prem As now expectations are too high for some. Most of the players who have got us to the position we are in will be back from injury before the season ends I am sure.Dont forget we have had a bad run but who we have played during that run.
