Europe Away
Can anybody hazard a wild guess as to how the club will sell tickets for our first visit into Europe in decades?
Obviously our allocation will depend upon who we draw and we will never know how many tickets we are given unless the home club release the numbers.
Will it be our normal points system starting at 5000 and reducing to 3000 then to season ticket holders?
Will the usual batches be given to the supporters groups to hand out?
Will the Foundation Group get a batch to give to their chosen few?
Or will it be a free for all like the good old days and queue up outside the ticket office overnight?

Hopefully the tickets for the final are based on pepole attending European games and not given to someone with lots of points that doesn't travel away or attend Europa league games.

I'll dash your hope now, there's no point waiting 10 months, it's the hope that kills you.Quickenthetempo wrote:Hopefully the tickets for the final are based on pepole attending European games and not given to someone with lots of points that doesn't travel away or attend Europa league games.
I'm sure a few of the pub lads who support Liverpool, Chelsea, United and Everton will tag a long too though for the p1ss up, most if not all with at ticket, just like a couple of times a season for the big games/weekends away.

Re: Europe Away
Depends on the size of the ground, they may even need to go to 9000 or 7000 points, 1 ticket per customer style, if we draw a team, say from The Faroe Islands...
Personally, I don't think supporters groups should get any preference for these games, as they are somewhat different from your run-of-the-mill league matches...
Foundation numbers should be limited, too, IMHO. Express an interest, with foundation members' names drawn out of a hat if necessary?

Re: Europe Away
It will be the same system as always surely?
Supporters clubs will get some, foundation some and the rest will be on a points system.
I still haven't had a reply from the club that priority should be on the basis on who was at hartlepool in 1992, when it was -15, and 0-0 and they had just broken the world record for number of games without a goal and we were, frankly and not to put too fine a point on it, ****. Anyone who stood through that deserves first priority if we get FC Lapland away, cos at least it would be warmer there.

Re: Europe Away
For all games, not just Europe, supporters groups should get no preference or priority whatsoever. Was getting fed up last season of tickets selling out when despite needing 5000+ points supporter clubs could just turn up and take a batch of tickets for themselves, with no checks from the ticket office staff that they have the required points or season tickets.whentheballmoves wrote:Depends on the size of the ground, they may even need to go to 9000 or 7000 points, 1 ticket per customer style, if we draw a team, say from The Faroe Islands...

Part of me sometimes wishes we can go back to the Championship days when you could go to any away you wanted with no hassle over getting a ticket, long before all these thousands of fans came crawling out of the woodwork.

Loyalty points, schmoyalty points. Think about the kiddiewinks and bandwagoners!
Re: Europe Away
Nailed on it'll end up being a free for all and a massive balls up.
If we're away first leg, we'll have 7 days from finding out who we play, to the game. They'll be no time for priority points, no time to post tickets out etc.

Re: Europe Away
Sorry bud but these 'thousands of fans crawling out of the woodwork' are making money for the club. Would you rather we were in the PL playing in front of the 2k hardy souls that braved the elements in the 4th division? EVERY team loses support the further down the leagues they go and EVERY team regains that support when they go back up. It's part of football. I get kind of sick of the 'loyal football fan' who criticises others for not wanting to spend hard earned watching sh!te. I missed a chunk of the 4th division days but not because we were there but for other personal reasons that had nothing to do with football, but I can tell you that with the rubbish that was being served up just then I certainly would have chosen my games, as did a lot of people. Do you honestly think that 40k plus would turn up every week if Liverpool were in the bottom tier? Or City? Or Arsenal? Correct, they wouldn't.claretburns wrote:For all games, not just Europe, supporters groups should get no preference or priority whatsoever. Re: Europe Away
Supporters clubs should absolutely get priority. Its up to them to police their members. But supporters club are the lifeblood of the club when we dont have the premier league money etc.
Ive no issue with the likes of Accy Clarets, Boundary Clarets etc getting a certain % of tickets and I would trust them to manage their allocation fairly.
They have a thankless enough task as it is. If they dont get tickets they would just jack it in.

It should be a single file Sherpa Van Trophy Final like queue all the way around and past the cricket club up to the Fire Station.

Re: Europe Away
Not sure I agree with supporters clubs getting priority for the European ties to be honest. Yes, they travel domestically on a regular basis and I don't mind the fact they get a batch for the PL but it's not as though they are going to run a coach to Belarus. I travel regularly to away games in the PL but (usually) drive. Why would they deserve a ticket more than me?cricketfieldclarets wrote:Supporters clubs should absolutely get priority. All this worrying about getting tickets. If you want to go get your travel booked then worry about tickets. Worst case scenario you're in the home end or partying in a European town/city with hundreds/thousands of other Clarets!
