It's even more confusing than a League Cup draw, but all the teams who are in the draw are shown at

Not even going to try and work out who we could get. Might not even watch the draw. Last one made no sense.

Hopefully someone in russia or kazakhstan

The previous draw was certainly complicated last time but at least it was done and dusted very quickly!

Planning in case, rather than assuming we will, beat Aberdeen, what do you want to come out tomorrow?

Winner of Sevilla and Újpest for me although we have a 1 in 4 chance of knowing exactly who we're trying to get through to play against.

Edit: If I understand seeding, we can't get them :(

Seems pretty straight forward. 13 teams entering at 3rd round phase highlighted, the 37 winners of the second round matches we are in and the loses of the two Champions League path games highlighted.

The key information which I havent checked to see whether its available is who are the 26 seeds as this will narrow down who we can play

Wow, Luzern would be a fabulous trip. An afternoon in the old city by the river would be special. Vienna would be very nice too.

As the winners of Burnley v Aberdeen will be seeded in the 3rd Qualifying round, here are the 26 potential unseeded opponents:

Image

Team in bold is the seeded team from the 2nd Qualifying round.
Last column is the UEFA coefficient. For reference Aberdeen's coefficient is 4.000.

There is a 23% chance of getting a straight draw and 8% chance of getting an either/or draw against a British team.

Tobol (Kazakhstan) or Pyunik (Armenia) please! :D

Could we potentially draw Rangers or are they and Hibernian kept apart from us due to us playing Aberdeen in this round?

We can’t get either hibs or rangers in case it is Aberdeen going through Usual rule on not playing teams from same association.

We are seeded of course, as are Aberdeen (the highest seed of the two opponents takes precedence) so we cannot get one of the other twenty-odd seeds.

It will focus the mind for Thursday, that’s for sure.

As Dy1geo and Jmw have rightly pointed out, the winners of Burnley v Aberdeen will not be drawn against Hibs/Asteras Tripolis or Osijek/Rangers, due to UEFA rules to avoid teams from the same country being drawn against each other. I’ve updated the table to reflect this. Also added in the ground capacities. There are quite a few tiny stadiums!

Image

Also on my travels around the internet I came across a few random facts about the teams in the draw:

Luhansk (Ukraine) – in located in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine. They now play matches in Zaporizhzhia in Central Ukraine, 400km away
Mariupol (Ukraine) – 25km from front line of the conflict. Has been attacked several times. A trip there could be quite hairy
Dynamo Minsk (Belarus) – play at the Tractor Stadium
Shakhtyor Soligorsk (Belarus) – nickname is ‘The Moles’
St. Gallen (Switzerland) – the oldest football club still in existence in continental Europe (1879)
Sarpsborg 08 (Norway) – only 10 years old
Viitorul Constanța (Romania) – only 9 years old! Owned and managed by Gheorghe Hagi
Dynamo Brest (Belarus) – chairman is Diego Maradona. Wonder what kind of reception he would get on t’Turf!
FK Žalgiris (Lithuania) – thankfully they can’t be drawn against Hibs. Could get a bit confusing! (See below):

Image

FC Vaduz (Liechtenstein) – play in the Swiss second division
Balzan FC (Malta) – official website doesn’t seem to have been updated for 2 years!
FC Tobol (Kazakhstan) – 2610 miles from Burnley as the crow flies!

Dare to dream! :)

I don't think we can get Hibs. I'm assuming two teams from one country cannot meet and with it being Aberdeen or Burnley it would rule out another Scottish opponent.

I'm sick of being told what to do by Europe -
Making football complicated - B******S
It is time we did a football exit and stood on our own
We invented the bleeding game
We could arrange our own games in the USA, India and other great footballing nations
We just don't need them.
I'm sick of sending all our hard earned Sky money to the Europe bureaucrats
Some of our own English teams, unable to qualify for the Europa can barely afford 50 Million to buy poor players like Richarlison!
The money we save from sending it all to Europa could fix this at a stroke.
It's time to make a stand - get out the battle bus
Come on Nigel - where are you? - let's be 'avin you!

Happy with this.

Minsk was the first team I Wanted to draw originally - Maradonna effect. Ignore me. He is at Brest. But Belarus would still be good.
Turkey Kazakhstan and Armenia would be great.
Dundalk easy to get to and would guarantee a good turnout.
Larnaca would be a nice holiday.
Norway, Slovakia and Switzerland are easy to get to.

£600 indirect to Almatay before a 25 hour drive north for the kazakh side.

Given my morning has been dedicated to this, I thought I'd share the capacities, according to Wikipedia....., and therefore quantities and likelihood of tickets being secured -

6 Tobol Kostanay (KAZ) 8,323 v Pyunik (ARM) 14,403
7 Dunajská Streda 9,901 (under renovation) (SVK) v Dinamo Minsk (BLR)17,600
8 St. Gallen (SUI) 17,317 v Sarpsborg (NOR) 4,700
9 Dundalk (IRL) 4,500 (3,000 seated) v AEK Larnaca(CYP) 7,400
10 İstanbul Başakşehir (TUR) 17,319

Flights to some of the major cities in and around these places aren't cheap either.

See you in the play off round (hopefully).

This looks the best of the stadiums we could visit. Looks like we could easily find it after 8 pints of Armenian Cognac too!

Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium (Armenian: Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան Հանրապետական մարզադաշտ) also known as the Republican Stadium (Armenian: Հանրապետական մարզադաշտ. Hanrapetakan Stadium)

There are a few grounds there smaller than Stanley's so don't expect too many tickets. I think it will take us getting much further before we get very many away tickets.
