Tony,
Thank you for all of your support behind the scenes with me on this one. Your time and guidance really is appreciated.
Just a request for people reading this who live, or know friends or family in New Zealand to spread the word. We know we haven’t reached every exiled fan in the country, despite our best efforts!
We may be a long way from home, but the fire still burns bright for Clarets in the land of the long white cloud! Kia Ora!
Tom

As a member of North American Clarets just want to say welcome to the club Kiwis. Another contact who might be useful is Tony Jones at NAC. He has been through all the setting up and I know if he can help he will. Good luck and you can start with a win v Spurs

FCBurnley - I lived in Pennsylvannia in 2006/2007 on an exchange with Uni. I have a really good friend in State College PA, who would be interested in joining up with you guys on your next meeting (I think a few of you are PA based). If you could put me in touch with Tony Jones, would be much appreciated.

You are very welcome. In terms of Up the Clarets, I’m always delighted to offer help to supporters groups be they local, on the other side of the world or anywhere in between. And then I have my other hat which is Burnley FC Supporters Groups and again we will support as much as we can any groups worldwide and we are looking at ways in which we can work together more.
All the best with New Zealand Clarets.

Enjoy guys.
We're actually in Whangarei at the moment, but will be going back to the UK for a few weeks including that weekend; tickets are already sort for both the Spurs game and St James' Park so well happy.

A floating Claret, your mentioned being in Whangarei. A few years ago I was in a long distance relationship with a lady, who lives there and travelled over here to see family. I kept getting invites to holiday over there, but because of my mums health, I never had the opportunity (sadly)
I met my present partner and after a month, I had to say, I'd met someone else. She was gutted, but a few weeks later, she won the New Zealand national lottery, which I'm told is televised, with a winner picked from a group of people.
I believe it's a lovely place and even better further North. I looked forward to going bird watching there and visiting the nearby harbour to see the Orkas ( killer Whales) and Stingray.

Get some Chris Wood memorabilia on show when you meet up in the pubs back home and get some locals hooked.

My old man got in contact with me about this. I live in Queenstown down south and probably won’t be able to make it to this meet up, but keen for a meet up with fellow 4am risers at some point.
Good to see that we have enough of us over here to start a supporters club.

Strangely enough I drove through Whangarei this afternoon on the way up to Paihia. On holiday from the UK and will be back in time for the Spurs game. Weather here a definite improvement on the UK, and I even managed to see highlights of Southampton game on local TV.

Well done for organising this. Probably can’t make that weekend as I’ll be away but great to see there’s other clarets around. I live up in Orewa (north of Auckland).

Anyone who knows any clarets in New Zealand, put them in touch!
Looking forward to next weekend and looks like we are going to get some healthy numbers. Races, golf and a few beers on the Saturday. Spurs game Sunday morning with breakfast- hope the lads put on a performance for us. A Chris Wood winner would top the weekend off nicely!
UTC!

Good luck. I used to work for NZS many moons ago and all those place names bring back fond memories of Kiwi. Had an Aunt who lived in Glenfield, Auckland and had some great times over there. My favorite places though were Napier and Mount Manganui. UTC

Thanks CaptJohn. The mount is great, me and the wife lived down there for 3 years for work and Napier is great too. Back in Auckland now for the foreseeable future.
Give us a shout if you are ever over again!

I have a great photo of my wife on the beach at the Mount wearing an All Blacks shirt. Wonderful place but sadly no plans to come back in the near future

Not quite the last bump, I've just bumped it again.
Hopefully we've been able to add one or two to those attending and I hope it's a huge success for you and it leads to many more such events in the future.
