Forget he started at Shrewsbury,he clearly still has roots in the area,and it's a great gesture to help out in these troubled times.

Massive gesture ? Come off it. Cut out the hyperbole. If he'd matched the amount raised as a donation then maybe it might be worthy of your description.

Are you aware that he hasn't? Perhaps he did not want to publicise it as someone like you who is ready to criticise would have commented that he did it for PR

My comment was not a criticism of Joe but of the over-the-top post calling his effort a massive gesture, a great professional example and a credit to the club. A poster on here (Bosscat I think) does that sort of work for charity weekly, and I'd be surprised if his admirable effort was ever described in that way. But, then again, he's not a footballer.
