He can throw it a hell of a long way - he's double jointed

It is also likely that non-league will call a halt as they struggle with finances and cannot fund testing - in Leagues 1 and 2 that is being paid for in part by the PFA

Yes. The new manager has worked out that he is good going forward but a bit of a liability going in the other direction.
He's therefore sat on the bench when up against decent opponents - the last two games both against Solihull moors for example.
Chesterfield have brought in another left back too. The main difference, though, is down to having a competent midfield.
He has been a popular loanee. Can't be faulted for effort. Probably needs to be playing in a 5 rather than a back 4.
