I was at 8 told I was too young to go....probably correctly. I remember watching the match at my Uncles in Colne. As we drove there at about 2ish I can remember the streets of Brierfield, Nelson and Colne so deserted other than about two dogs being taken for a walk to presumably avoid any need for a wee break during the match. The place was like a ghost town.
The rest as they say is history. I was at the end told "next time we're going" but had to wait until '94!!!!.......at least we won then!

Had a ticket but my cousin got it from my mum instead of an Easter egg.

My Dad said that at 9 I was too young to go. He had a ticket, but I persisted and 2 days before the game he came back with one for me. Having said that he'd took me to the 1/4 and first semi final. He went to the reply at Filbert Street, but I had school the morning after so was not allowed to go.
In those days the FA Cup was far more important than the League, as evidenced by the attendances.

I was 10 & did the same three. Neither me nor my dad went to Leicester for the replay.

Stories about Wembley cup finals always makes me think about my "Late" mate Bill who went with his Dad following PNE in 63/64 to every FA cup game home and away ... His dad got the cup final tickets v West Ham and then promptly sold them for a profit ...
Bill said he didn't speak to his dad after that for 4 years ... only through his brother and his Mum

I was at the '62 final as well, also the semi-final at Villa Park. I didn't see any of the semi though, some idiot threw a bottle from way up behind where we were standing, it hit me on the head, spent the game in hospital getting patched up.

I went to both games with a member on this board, and his Dad.

If I remember rightly, at the 1/4 final at Bramall Lane, a boundary wall collapsed just behind the goals and some people were hurt. Home fans I think.

It did. We were later home than expected because of fog and my mum had hit the panic button thinking we were involved but we were at the other end.

I was there at Wembley. Went on the day from Burnley Central station on a special train pulled by the Silver Jubilee loco, a bonus for my trainspotting as well

A memorable day even though Spurs won…I’d never seen or been in such a crowd before…or since! Two great teams with two great managers.

It was the day I became a claret. Aged 5 I watched the match on tv with my dad and older brothers who all supported Spurs. I had to be different….

I got a ticket but had no one to take me. I was 12. I think it cost 5 bob and I managed to sell it for a pound. Watched the game on the tele.

I was there, my first trip to Wembley. After the game I was downhearted but not devastated: I knew we had a great team so I was expecting big things in the future.
