Morecambe's manager, when interviewed on Saturday, said he couldn't understand why Mellon hadn't been called up to the U21's and that he had spoken to the Scotland manager about it. I might be wrong but someone could have dropped out for him to get the call so he can hopefully take advantage of it and keep the place. Scotland are funny thought with call ups. They kept ignoring Arfield when he was much better than what they had.

I think that was down to Strachan when he was Scotland manager. He didn't seem to like Arfield at all.

Not sure what's changed but Morecambe must have seen something in him last season to take him back again and he's already scored 4 goals.

Good luck to the lad.
