On a more general point, I can’t recall a manager being as poor with his substitutions as Kompany has been this season.

there is no logic to it but that fits in nicely with everything the club has done since the full time whistle went against Cardiff on May 8th 2023

Yes, players get appearance fees. They’ll get a fee for being being named on the bench too.

So the fool in charge can say the stats show it as another appearance for Benson where he failed to assist or score.

He can then say Benny isn't good enough for the PL as he didn't come on and score 4 goals.

All three should have been on at half time

Dunno, guess I'm just someone who likes to give people the opportunity to correct their mistakes (all of which were made in the summer). Not going to lie though, I'm having to try hard to keep thinking it at the moment. He's not learning, he is ruining Trafford and the lack of fight shown from the players is probably a reflection of his decisions

It has to be contract related, there’s literally no other logical explanation.

I’m surprised an experienced pro like J Rod hasn’t told him to stick it bringing him on in the 89th min,most of us have either badly judged the team spirit and their belief in VK or they are just past caring.

Did anyone notice Jay’s body language as he was waiting to come on? He seemed to be making a point.

To be fair. There was 12 minutes added on and we have more subs than there used to be. I dont think bringing players on at that time is really a problem in itself.

No I've not but I will if you can drop the link, but that has no relevance to facts.

Not sure how to link but it was on the Ben Foster podcast. Its nothing to do with bad mouthing the manager, he didnt really need to say much but he showed real enthusiam about the methods that VK has brought in.

With reference to the Benson sub

An insult to the player ?

An insult to the fans ?

There was absolutely no need for that to be a tactical move

VK's credibility just dives to greater depths with every game at the moment

Same team next game with Cullen for Brownhill

Exactly this- we went from Dyche making subs at 80mins to VK regularly making half time subs last season.

Why have his principles changed so much this season ?

It is genuinely feeling spiteful at this point. To either Benson or the fans who want him to play, maybe both.
Just makes no sense.
We're done, we're offering nothing, yet Kompany claims everyone's been given a chance when we have other wingers offering naff all week after week.
Okay, Benson's frail and can't defend. Same of Odobert. Gudmundsson is naturally left sided, why the hell won't we at least TRY Gudmundsson back on the left and Benny coming on at 55-60 mins on the right, for a few games?
It's just maddening. Worse than Dyche's reluctance to use subs.

At least Benson is getting on the bench rather than tresor.

Just noticed tresor has made 14 appearances, and then disappeared. Maybe 15 triggers something....
