Players from relegated teams?

I would imagine there will be some decent deals to be done on players from the teams relegated from the Prem.
Ipswich certainly did it last summer.
I'm not sure of each club's financial situation, but they will all need to sell.

Got to be some gems for a reasonable fee?

I think Leicester have big problems having read an article about them somewhere.

Isn’t there a chance they’ll start the season on minus points like Sheffield United?

Not many I’m overly keen on / are realistic.
Ipswich - Cajuste in cm on loan from Napoli
Saints - Fernandes in cm (prob ask for too much)
Leicester - Ndidi I like, could see him wanting a fresh start, we’d lose him (and Hannibal) to AFCON though

Commanding experienced cb essential. Maybe Conner Coady?
Younger, quicker right back. Walker-Peters?
Strong line leader. Maybe Delap?
Power, strength and height in cm. ?

I think I'd stay away from anyone at Leicester - their dressing room sounds utterly toxic with players such as Winks and Vestergaard behaving poorly and in exactly the opposite way that Parker has generated from our players.
Southampton have Walker-Peters leaving on a free I think. I'd certainly take him, but I'd imagine we'd have to get in line.
Ipswich have played in a very similar way to how we played last season, so for that reason, I don't think there is anyone who's good enough other than Delap who has far bigger suitors that Burnley.

Don't think there is any doubt Delap will leave Ipswich but he will be destined for an established Premier League side. Out of our reach both financially and matching the player's ambitions I would say.

Winks fell out with Van Nistelrooy but I have always been a fan of his as a player and he has great experience. I wonder if he knows Parker and Edwards from the Spurs youth side too.

I like Winks too but isn’t he too Cullen-esque? I’m thinking the main cm signing needs to be a destroyer / dynamic ball winner type.

They fell out because Winks refused to relocate to live closer to the training ground and wouldn’t travel up the night before a game. Incredibly unprofessional

Yeah would agree that he is very Cullen-ish. I do though quite like the idea of two players so comfortable in possession possibly in a three next to a big, physical player. I think it depends on the likelihood of Brownhill staying too.

Don't forget last nights win has already triggered some "buy" obligations so we've already spent a good chuck of cash I'd imagine...

Roberts is 29
Walker-Peters is 28
Although I concede he is younger - i assume that's probably not what you meant

One that I saw at relegated sides was Harry Winks. Still only 28. Will know Parker from spurs academy.

‘Only’ £16m on Anthony & Edwards.

£12m is the total suggested sum, whether that includes bonuses and whatnot, someone on here recently was informed the initial fee is way less.

I wouldn't worry too much about the players we're going to sign permanently now - Humphreys, Anthony, Edwards, and Flemming. On face value they seem to add up to around £30-35m, but these things are spread out over many years these days and some of it will have been included in this season's planning because we were due to sign them regardless of promotion (Humphreys and Flemming).
We'll have to be a lot smarter about who we bring in this time, and I do get the sense that big lessons were learned last season. Keeping the core group together this summer instead of disrupting it will be a very good start.

Were Flemming and Bashir not obligations to buy also, or had we already started making payments?. I'm sure Flemming is still Millwall's player hence why he can't play the last game.
We've had so much movement I can't keep track if I'm being honest

The obligations won't impact next season's spending I wouldn't have thought. We were signing most regardless of promotion, apert from Edwards

I'd honestly rather that we looked at players from those Championship sides who aren't going up; the only player I see being mentioned that I think would seriously improve us is Delap and as noted already, we aren't going to get him.

Not many if any I’d fancy. Most have looked woefully short of the required standard. I noticed O’Shea got nutmegged in his last match. Wasn’t he itching to leave but we will now pass him by as we go up.

He will do i think. A bit older than Edwards but would have been training with seniors when Parker was finishing as a player I suspect.

Relegated teams:
Saints - Sulemana, Fernandes, THB if either CJ or Steve go
Leicester - El Khannous, Ndidi, Fatawu
Ipswich - Phillips - in the hope someone like Parker could get him back to his best
Championship:
Hamer - if Sheff Utd don’t go up
Rigg - think he’ll have bigger suitors but he’s a good un
Isidor - Barnes will retire so need an out and out striker
Sargent - as above
Van Ewijk - don’t think Sonne is up to it but Roberts and him would be sufficient
Hackney - young powerful CM
Dwomoh - relatively risk free signing on the cheap, looked like one of watfords better players last week
I’m sure they’ll be some targets further afield but if we want to do our shopping in this country, there’s a few there that I think would improve the squad as a whole.

The ones we would want are the ones we wouldn’t be able to get. Delap being the obvious, perfect for Parker but will go somewhere like Everton or even higher. Available on a £30m release clause and worth a gamble in case no-one else can afford it (maybe if we get some dosh from Everton). Ramsdale better than many think if Trafford goes.
I’m struggling really. Ndidi, Souttar from Leicester?
That chap O’Shea - apparently he hates staying at relegated sides, I’d bid then deliberately pull out 12 hours before the window shuts

Odds on for going down even with signing relatively good championship players at a premium. Take the cream off L1 & they'll be ok for championship when all likelihood the course won't change whatever method apart from saving money.

Delap has a release clause, from memory it's over 40 million. He'll go to a top 10 side

like it or not we need units, absolute speed merchants or lads who can keep the ball, not sure how many of those the relegated sides have tbh. You would think sides like Villa or Forest would shed a few and replace with better. Ross Barkley would be one if he is remotely interested in playing, I saw him shaking his head in disgust at Emery tonight when Villa made substitutions and he wasn't one of them.

That’d be a cracking move for him to be fair.
He’ll have made a decent living on signing bonuses alone!

Yeah there's no hiding for O'Shea now. He's been part of 3 relegations that have seen his teams repeatedly thumped. I never understood the love in for him from some on here. For at least a third, if not half of last season he was an absolute bomb scare. He did redeem himself somewhat over the course of the season but certainly not to warrant the pant ******* that went on over him leaving. It was never gonna take a world beater to replace him and yet we seem to have found just that

Lovely ball player, but hasn’t got the defensive awareness/experience/nous/physicality for a relegation battling team, imo. Boro fans I see don’t rate that side of his game in this league let alone the Prem.
For defensive midfield I’d be looking at Ndidi from Leicester or Dendoncker from Villa. Both experienced at PL level.

He refuses to stay in a local hotel in Leicester on pre match nights, so he is unlikely to move to Burnley. For this reason frozen out of the squad. He is also very similar to Cullen in playing style

I have seen a lot of Leicester this season. No one there for us. Ndidi a few seasons ago but I think Josh Laurent gives us everything he can. Khannhous is a very exciting young prospect but again we are covered by our wingers-same applies to Mavididi both these would be costly.
