And what a Board- Doc Ivan, Baz Dearing, Jackson, Frank Teasdale and is that Jack Butterfield our commercial manager next to Tommy Cavanagh?
A few decent players on that Pic (decent in so far as we could have stayed above 22nd in the 4th Division) Kevin Hird but think he left before the Orient season as did Biggins (played top flight football), and big Vince Overson-so maybe not.

It is Jolly Jack Butterfield on the pic next to Cavanagh and my old friend George Bray next to Buchan.
It's not the Orient season - it's 1985/86 with Buchan & then Cavanagh so we still had Hird, Biggins, Overson, Alan Taylor who had all gone before the Orient season.

Haha I thought for the last few weeks that the 73/74 team above was the 78/79 team and it was David holt in between dobbo and casper. So wrong, is it Paul Fletcher (trip to specsavers me thinks)

Phelan, Steven, Dixon, Laws.
Four pretty decent careers there all to come out of the same team.

I would have thought you might have realised it wasn't David Holt - it is Fletcher.

From the picture in post#50 by Holtyclaret, I have no recollection whatsoever of the above player, Billy Wright. Anyone got any info on him?

Billy Wright made just one first team appearance for us in the Football League Group Cup at Wimbledon in 1981/82. Brian Miller played virtually a reserve team that night and we were beaten 5-0.
The team was: Billy O'Rourke, David Miller, Phil Ray, David Holt, Paul Dixon, Colin Anderson, Derek Scott, Phil Cavener, Billy Wright (Mark Allen), Eric Potts, Kevin Young.

Thanks for that great info, hardly a famous name then, but I'd still give my right arm to have had his Clarets career!

Is that a young David Davies interviewing Casper?
If so, he was on the BBC News channel just last week reviewing the newspapers.

We lost 2-0 but what has been forgotten is the fact that VAR failed that day due to a shortage of carrier pigeons on the day and the game had to rely on the referee, a certain Tobias Scott (aptly nick named I am biased Scott) the first in a lineage of Scotts who would (dis) grace top flight football for generations. At present that Mantle has been passed down to Tobias' great great not so great Grandson Graham.

Nicholl went because of eye problems. He signed for Witton Albion and then went to Halifax. He went on to play in the top flight after discovering contact lenses.
