That's beautifully patronising. Are you sure that you don't mean that I have a different opinion of how to do it?South West Claret. wrote:You obviously don't understand the importance of Burnley FC remaining in the Premiership for another year.

No I mean exactly what I said before which I'm sure you will understand at some stage.dsr wrote:That's beautifully patronising. Are you sure that you don't mean that I have a different opinion of how to do it?
Maybe some of us think there's more to football than being happy finishing 17th every year and counting the TV money?South West Claret. wrote:You obviously don't understand the importance of Burnley FC remaining in the Premiership for another year.
Oh, I see. What you're saying is that your view of what Burnley should be doing is the only view and all other views are wrong? You must be a very important person.South West Claret. wrote:No I mean exactly what I said before which I'm sure you will understand at some stage.
Or we think it's possible to have a decent cup run without getting relegated.South West Claret. wrote:You obviously don't understand the importance of Burnley FC remaining in the Premiership for another year.
I`d rather remain in the Premier League personally....not too keen on rugby.South West Claret. wrote:You obviously don't understand the importance of Burnley FC remaining in the Premiership for another year.

I think you're missing the point. It's not the game time that could be damaging, but the potential injuries received to key players that is the risk. Why risk playing key players against lower league opposition, who can be more clumsy in the tackle, for a slim chance to win a cup. Our primary focus has to be the Premier League and as such we cannot risk injuries in the early rounds.jrgbfc wrote:An extra 5 or 6 games won't do us any harm. Not sure why so many people on here have this view that having a bit of a cup run leads to automatic relegation.
You only have to look at our last proper cup run, under Owen Coyle, to see how damaging it can be.Rick_Muller wrote:I think you're missing the point. Granted, if we made it to the quarter/semi final I think we should then take it more seriously, but until then, not for me.
That is some shadow 11!AlargeClaret wrote:We’ve got a very lively squad that can easily be rotated this year and I’d expect a decent crack at the cups . Though aside what the bottom lip quivering brigade believe Dyche has never disrespected any cups and simply does the standard squad rotation ( injuries aside) that any prem manager does .
A very loose XI below looks non too shabby for early rounds
Hart
Bards Long Gibson Taylor
Lennon Cork Drinkwater Brady/U23
J Rod Hendrick
Well at least some posters have a brain on here today.Rick_Muller wrote:I think you're missing the point. oh yeah, that year we won the cup... hang on a minute...........dsr wrote:You only have to look at our last proper cup run, under Owen Coyle, to see how damaging it can be.
Oh, hang on ...
If you took out Cork as he is a starter and stick Vydra in then that side would be easily relegated especially with the state of Brady and his injury problems.Quicknick wrote:That is some shadow 11!
To be honest, I bet that is rather funny...bfcmik wrote:... it's about as funny as falling into a 3/4 full cesspit.
I hope not. Forest are a bigger club than us. We've only got a Wood.TheFamilyCat wrote:I think we’ll draw Forest.
Is that where you screen name comes from? maybe that's why it wouldn't affect you and you would find it amusing?whiffa wrote:To be honest, I bet that is rather funny...
As far as shadow XI’s/low round league cup games it’s very tidy I’d sayDevils_Advocate wrote:If you took out Cork as he is a starter and stick Vydra in then that side would be easily relegated especially with the state of Brady and his injury problems.
The element of falling in would be humorous - the possible death part, not so much.Goobs wrote:Is that where you screen name comes from? maybe that's why it wouldn't affect you and you would find it amusing?
