I’ve clearly missed the memo with Declan Rice. What exactly does he bring to the team? Whatever it is, it’s not very useful.

I didn't watch the game but seems like a lot of over reactions. When did we last lose a qualifying game? Southgate may have his flaws but he's taken England further than anyone (with less talent) for a geberation

I did watch the game and whilst I thought we were crap at many times in the game, I do agree there's been a lot of over reaction.

Like I posted earlier in the thread, I think he's confident we'll qualify and has taken the plunge to bring in some new faces to give them experience. Mason Mount for instance has only just started playing for Chelsea this season, as he'd played his career so far in the Championship. Competitive International games for him is important and with the position we are in the table, now is his only chance before next summer arrives.

And although Czech Republic are ranked something like 32nd in the World, they were well up for it yesterday and I thought they were excellent tactically for the most part.
