Most of that area is quite respectable full of nice people.Unfortunately some of it is not and most people understand why.

Funny barden area that - it's called reedley
Funny that the OP chose the title "Trouble AROUND Barden area" - rather than Reedley.
The dispersal area, (if you bothered to check the map) is mainly Reedley, (stretching right from the Hospice up to Marsden R) and then into the northern-most area of Burnley, but only so far west as Barden Lane. So again it's 90% suburban detached and semi detached properties such as Highfield Ave, Fifth Avenue, Borrowdale Drive etc. [And yes - for balance - some not so good properties off Briercliffe Rd around by Lidl (no disrespect intended to the occupants). The area does NOT however stretch as far as Duke Bar or any of the area SW of Barden Lane. (That's what I - and I think most others - would consider to be "Barden area".)
Most of the designated ("mapped") area though is Reedley and it's borders, and it's described as "Reedley" in the LT article linked by the OP.
EDIT (for clarity):
I note that as of last evening the area has now been extended and does now in fact include what I would consider to be the Barden area running down past Duke Bar and including Stoneyholme etc. At the time I was posting initially however, and when you posted, it did not.

"Neighbours alerted police after more than 30 troublemakers were spotted on the streets of Barden and Reedley, straddling the Burnley and Pendle border at 6.50pm on Thursday."

Ok, I omitted Reedley from the title which ultimately proved quite accurate.

I also wrote "around" Barden which you rightly highlight.

Not sure what your point is to be fair.

My point is clear if you read the whole thread. I have no issue at all with your OP. You correctly wrote "around", but certain posters took this to mean in the small area close to Duke bar. It wasn't - it was essentially Reedley / Casterton / Windermere Ave, and it was residents from this area who took the initiative to request a clamp down.
Describing this area as being "like Beirut" is so obviously absurd. (not that you did).
