Two of those are on the prick list and they both have Owen in their name.

Never hated any player, but we had several in the third & fourth division days that I’d have been happy to replace with any of 50% of the fans in the stands.

Wonder what players made the shortlist.
Nogan got plenty of stick, took it well and gave plenty back.

I've been watching Burnley since the early 90's and I think, as a player, Kurt Nogan has had the biggest reaction when returning to play against us.
I think, if we ever cross paths with Danny Drinkwater again, he will be booed.

Waddle wasn't exactly hated, just a flop, but his assistant Roeder wasn't very likeable.

Usually players who left under a cloud even though sometimes the clouds had been put in place by the manager. So Nogan was definitely one as were Andy Gray and Jason Shackell.

Always intrigued me the hate fans have for some players that leave the club.
Guess players who leave in the “wrong way” - eg putting in transfer requests, refusing to play / playing but clearly not trying etc are going to leave a bad taste.
Players leaving is part of the game - and of course players joining us have just done the same to their old club.
Sometimes the manager or club can inflame the situation with their comments about a player leaving and you might not hear the players side of the story.
One of things that I dislike is players who go to a club for a final payday and have no intention of giving their all. Don’t think it’s happened to us too much and when you do see at other clubs you can see why fans turn on the player or manager for signing them.

Shackell would be top of my list, but karma bit him on the backside when Derby came calling in that 4-1 game, all in the full glare of the TV cameras to boot,TBH it's time to let the Coyle thing go,he thought he was going to greener pastures,it didn't work out,and now he's a busted flush, meanwhile we've became an established PL club,i know who got the better end of the bargain.

I don't understand why fans take it so personally when players leave. Coyle leaving was more frustrating because it's like he couldn't see what we had in hands - despite everything he said, wanting young, hungry players, building a legacy and so on.

Let's face it, Coyle leaving hurt people so much because of how much he was revered by the fans. He brought more success to the club than anyone else had for a generation. He then left without a shred of integrity halfway through our most important season for over 20 years. In my opinion he deserves the ill-feeling although I suspect most people, like myself, have well and truly got over him considering our more recent success.

I wouldn't boo Drinkwater he must have thought all his Christmases had come at once, he was just a terrible gamble.
I don't boo unfavourable ex players when they play using don't waste my energy I do though gloat when they have a mare ie Shackell.

Some of those picks seem like nothing. Is that the best the Scousers have got? Even the bluenose pick is somebody I had forgotten even existed.
The Newcastle pick would have been so easy given that Leicester had already drafted that little #### Dennis wise. I'm surprised they didn't trade up after that to make sure they got to pick him ahead of man u.
I have a feeling that if this was some sort of poker that Stoke could name 10 different players/managers and still have a winning hand over half that lot added up together.

To be fair 6 years ago Joey Barton would have been on that list for me, but I had so much admiration for him when he left us to become a manager.Norman Hunter must be on most claret's hated list but by the same token what if he had been with us all his career. Savage was one I disliked as were Bremner and McQueen of Leeds. Probably its the "hard men" playing against our team we naturally tend to dislike most

Hate's a horrible word, best reserved for terrorists, Dictators, child murderers etc ....
However, twice this week, I've heard that Craig Bellamy is a singularly unpleasant individual, once in an article from a former Premier League Ref, and again in an E-mail from a semi-retired journalist, with close links to Welsh Sport .... Steve Davis was the one thread from our 4th Division days to us as a Premier League Club, his massive contribution to this Club far outweighs the manner of his departure to Bolton ... imho !

Craig Bellamy always struck me as a person who was very unlikable on and off the pitch, he was a nasty piece of work who didnt like the English.
