Getting Our Lives Back

For one of my neighbours normality has apparently already begun. Adult child, partner and grandkid for tea last Sunday, then elderly parents for tea this Sunday. At least they're alternating I suppose..

I haven't worked since 21 March. I earned a crust as a taxi driver but not much call for my services atm. I've enjoyed the time off with the family, but am ready to work again. For that to happen people need to be on the move again, particularly going out to pubs, restaurants, cinema, theatres.

Its more common than you think. Week one of holidays, I mean lockdown it was like Butlins by us. And is again now.
Many haven't taken it that serious at all.

Behave, that's a bit over the top. What newspaper do you work for?CaptJohn wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 1:43 pmI have to admit I am gobsmacked at some of the comments on here.
I wish I lived in the bubble that some of you are in, that this is actually a good situation. The worlds economy has been trashed and their won't be many jobs that survive plus the cost to the government is mind boggling. Who's going to pick up the tab for it? Go look in the mirror for the answer.
I'm sorry guys and gals but this is devastation on a global scale. If it lasts for another six months, as someone has hoped for, we'll be living in the dark ages and the Premier league will be a thing of the past.
We'd all better hope for a miracle cure/vaccine soon because furloughing won't last much longer and reality will hit big time.
Stay in your bubbles because you'll sleep better for now.
The global economy paused when it was brought to a halt and will take a bit of time to get back to momentum, but it's as a whole, not just an individual country.
It's not just practicality that will get things moving again, it's people's desires and emotional state.

Re: Getting Our Lives Back
One of the reasons why we have poor stats up north, many have ignored the distancing advice. The herd mentality has been embraced much sooner up here, we're experiencing a single drawn out period of infection. At least it makes a second wave much less likely.
