Which is why formerly Irish jokes have been replaced with Essex jokes, blonde jokes, and general abuse to people with red hair (Sean Dyche excepted).

Re: Last night of the Proms
This was the result of
YouGov Aug 26-27, don't knows excluded.
Land of Hope & Glory and Rule Britannia will be performed without lyrics. Right or wrong decision?
All voters
Right 16%
Wrong 55%
Remainers
Right 26%
Wrong 41%
Leavers
Right 9%
Wrong 78%
Once again, all I did was reflect, early on, what the majority were thinking.
Anyway , given the U-turn, it looks as though someone at the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation has been on an unconscious bias awareness course.

And precisely no one disagreed with you (or cared enough). Editing someone else’s article to try and make it look like it’s making a point it isn’t, that’s another thing.RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 11:42 pmThis was the result of

Oh dear, Ringo's learnt a new phrase that he doesn't understand. Expect to read threads littered with incorrect usage of it for the next few weeks.
Re: Last night of the Proms
Is that how you see it? I think generally, comedy is moving away from aiming at disadvantaged people, and instead become more nuanced.

"Right wing comedy is just racism" is a good example of how people like you, try to mould comedy to your particular liking.AndrewJB wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:20 pmIt was never cancelled. People just stopped finding racist jokes funny. The generations who did are dying out. So there’s no major market for that stuff anymore, and a sizeable number of people who actively hate it. It’s not to say you’re not allowed to laugh at it, but like any fashion, things change.
You’re wrong that there aren’t any rightwing comedians. I enjoy Northcott, Wenn, and Evans; but if you’re looking for racist jokes, they might not be your bag.
I've seen some of the sh*te you bedwetters pass off as extremely funny. People with low iq and a speech impediment. Repeating some crap one liner, over and over again, what some taxi driver supposedly said. Donald trump has orange skin. Jacob Rees Moggs kids etc.
Then reporting parody accounts on twitter until they get pulled

By the way, if you think no one took the **** out of Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party you must have missed the last 4 years on tv.

You cant complain about the cancel culture and then say left wing comedy is wrong.Damo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:59 am"Right wing comedy is just racism" is a good example of how people like you, try to mould comedy to your particular liking.

If you say that the current climate has gone too far in removing things you have absolutely no right to complain about stuff you think is wrong.

Re: Last night of the Proms
Looks like the reintroduction of a song that celebrates the men women and children of Britain , no longer being taken into slavery by barbaric, marauding north African barbery slave traders , thanks to the Royal Navy being able to stave off their threat. Has upset some folk!
Each ti their own.

Re: Last night of the Proms
If it makes you happy to alter an article published in a magazine by the Marxist BBC so you can believe that then knock yourself out. You’ve done it before, you’ll do it again, then go on the attack and deny it when someone pulls you up on it. It’s classic Wrongo behaviour so no one is surprised.RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 8:38 amLooks like the reintroduction of a song that celebrates the men women and children of Britain , no longer being taken into slavery by barbaric, marauding north African barbery slave traders , thanks to the Royal Navy being able to stave off their threat. I find it odd that no one has raised the simple fact that the word ‘slaves’ rhymes with ‘waves’ and is probably the reason for its inclusion in the song rather than anything else.
Rule Britannia, Britannia rule the waves,
Britain never, never, never shall be captured/defeated/beaten or whatever doesn’t really work in a rhyme.

Threatening to erase part of British heritage, tradition and culture.
And doing it when the Albert Hall will be empty. Doing it when there will be no ticket buying audience who could simply decide not to buy a ticket when they find out the proms are going down the PC toilet. No audience to stand up and walk out in a display of what the silent majority think.
No doubt there'll be lots of patting each other on the back at middle class dinner parties in putney, Islington and Chiswick or any other places where they believe they're morally superior to those who still pay the TV poll tax , otherwise known as the Licence Fee.
Tony Hall director general of the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation ( salary £400,000 per year) is off to the Edinburgh to tell his gushing lefty audience that the BBC is the voice of Britain!!
Re: Last night of the Proms
I'd entirely missed that Ringo has learnt some new parts of London. I wonder if he's easing Islington out in case Cummings ever has a dinner party? Probably needs to pick some areas other than Chiswick and Putney though. Dinner parties there are more likely to be hedge fund managers decrying our current socialist government and discussing the goings on at the golf club.

Except that article is completely different from the one she wrote. The Mail attributed words to her that were from other people. Looks like you’ve been taken in by a lying newspaper. You’ve been made to look a fool by the Daily Mail, who have only contempt for ordinary people. When has the BBC knowingly lies to you?

Funnily enough I’ve never tried to set out what is funny and what isn’t. It’s the Tory DG of the BBC who is reported to be the one who wants to censor comedy. Too many jokes about Brexit, Johnson, and Trump apparently. I hate using the word “Fascism” but that’s just what it is.Damo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:59 am"Right wing comedy is just racism" is a good example of how people like you, try to mould comedy to your particular liking.

Re: Last night of the Proms
Funny how most of the people that want to preserve and not change the ‘British Insitution ‘ that they think the BBC is are happy to change or modernise this one. The BBC is not a British Institution anymore, has been shown up in recent weeks and panders to the left and woke. Most of the people complaining about the Proms probably don’t listen to it but are looking for something to be offended by yet again.

I've got to agree with this bit. You only need to look at this thread to see all those people who claim not to watch the BBC (and so I'd assume the Proms) but are outraged about some songs not being sung.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:16 pmFunny how most of the people that want to preserve and not change the ‘British Insitution ‘ that they think the BBC is are happy to change or modernise this one. Perhaps it's not your fault. Possibly you don't have a dictionary or other reference book. Here's an article that explains what fascism is. Educate yourself.

Re: Last night of the Proms
Britain is a woke country. We were at the forefront of ending slavery, and vigorously pursued this aim. We chose to stand and fight against Hitler. Even fruitiest of right wing nutcases will not claim to be against equality of gender, sexual orientation, race and religion. So by upholding woke ideals the BBC is where it should be - at the forefront of being British.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:16 pmFunny how most of the people that want to preserve and not change the ‘British Insitution ‘ that they think the BBC is are happy to change or modernise this one. With statements like: “the BBC isn’t British...” I have a feeling you could earn a crust filling one of their vacant comedy slots.
