As a player I like many others adored his tough but fair attitude to playing for his beloved Burnley FC. The one skill that I will always remember is his heading ability and how he seemed to hang in the air longer than the defenders and then the power he injected into the ball as he timed his jump to perfection.
As a man we met a few times as his daughter married into my extended family. I will never forget how he came instantly to my aid as my dad collapsed at a family do. He helped me carry him to the car and to get my dad to get medical help. He was like a brother that day. What greater accolade can I afford him?
RIP Peter

Re: Peter 'UWE' Noble
Lived near me in Worsthorne where several Clarets also lived. Was a lovely chap and always said hello when he walked past .
Was always a player that gave 100% very much like Brian O-'Neil.
Always happy to talk football with you at his market stall when he retired.
