Why employ an expensive guy to source players when there is no intention to buy any ?
Why elect a Prime Minister and pay him a lot of money while he fumbles around and ***** things up.
We were looking at Bogle a couple of years ago and he went to Sheffield for 3.5m. Lots of good players have moved for low sums of money in this window, but the rumour mill has linked us to Santamaria ( that was never going to happen ), Roca ( never going to happen ) and Wilson ( glad it didn't happen ).
We let Hendrick leave for nothing and playing on the right doesn't seem to be the issue. Neither did Dyche want shut.
Garlick wants players, Dyche wants players, the players want players, we want players, their is a clear intention to buy but our new recruitment department haven't sourced any that meet our playing and financial requirements.
If this was a rare hiccup in a career of great performances I would give our well paid Technical director the benefit of the doubt. but that isn't the case. He has failed every club that has hired him and now he is failing us.
If you pump lots of additional money into recruitment, hire lots of new people to effect change, give the new people a big say in how we go about our recruitment and our recruitment gets WORSE then surely the person that is heading up that department has to be called to account.
First window - it is to early to expect the new bloke to do anything.
Second window - it is a new challenge for the new bloke and he is finding it tough
Third window - a plan to do nothing and luckily Brownhill drops in our lap
Fourth window - not looking good at the moment
If the only thing that is showing an increase is the number of " excuses for poor performance" then a change has to be made. Garlick has credit in the bank, Dyche has credit in the bank, what credit has Rigg amassed in the two years he has been with us ?
