A chance to pick our first win tonight, but think we went not to get beat, and never looked like it.
Anyone who has paid to view that football match deserves £14.45 back.

2 teams that look like poor footballing sides, and failure to improve will probably mean relegation, it was that poor.

Pope - 8 faultless
Pieter's - 6 lucky not to get booked with some needed fouls
Long - 8 best of the defenders
Tarks - 7 also good
Taylor - 6 defended well but average going forward
JBG - 5 never got into it
Westwood - 7 some good balls in
Brownhill - 6 average
McNeil - 8 looked more like he did last season and MOM although Pope and long ran him close
Barnes - 5 looked very rusty
Wood - 4 probably harsh but should have done his job and scored

Pieters 7 not bad a few good moves
Tarks 6 still thinks he’s van dijk spraying it around the pitch but realistically he just pumps it straight off the pitch or to the opposition.

Brownhill 8 Very good I thought
Westwood 7 great cross
McNeil 8 Best player on the pitch
Wood 6 some great hold up play but should score
Barnes 4 awful apart from a couple of good strikes

Pope 8. Kept us in game and back to his best
Pieters 7-his experience got him through against a tough winger.Did well tonight
Long 7-some very important defending, and much better than of late
Tarkowski 7-one great block. Mistimed some defensive headers
Taylor 7, some good defending and pushing forward with Dwight
JBG-6, quiet game
Westwood 7, poor first half but strong second. Delightful cross for Wood, who should have scored
Brownhill 7, hardworking, and gets stuck in both in the air and ground
McNeil 8-signs of him getting back to his best. Some delightful crosses,.one of which (Barnes) should have led to a goal
Wood 6-looked sluggish tonight, but got stronger in the game
Barnes7, normally would have scored at least one-great block by keeper, and worked very hard
Brady 6, looked more dangerous than JBG in his short stint

Tarkowski 5 - heads been turned, doesn't look interested.
Long 8 - made some great challenges.

Pope 8 - solid
Pieters 6 - did ok
Tarkowski 6 - not too troubled but bit wayward
Long 6 - ditto
Taylor 6 - decent but didn’t’t get to the bi-line as much as he usually did.
Gudmundsson 4 - couple of decent touches and crosses but struggled to get into the game. Still looks a way off the pace and tentative
Westwood 7 - led by example and showed lots of quality. Great cross for the Wood sitter.
Brownhill 7 - hell of a shift against a midfield five.
McNeil 8 ** - best game for a while. When he’s on this form we need our forwards to be sharp.
Wood 6 - some great control but should have scored with a very easy chance for players in this league
Barnes 4 - offered us nothing really. Missed a great chance though tbf it was a very good save

Brady 3 - don’t understand some of the half decent scores. He almost got us in trouble 2 or 3 times with stupid flicks and dangerous passes.Didn’t put in one good cross despite having a couple of good opportunities to. I just don’t get him as a player anymore. He’s lost a yard of pace, rarely puts in a decent cross, about 4th choice on dead balls....but still persists in putting us in danger with silly touches.
Rodriguez 5 - not on long enough really. With his lay off would like to have seen Vydra on before him and maybe Jay on for Wood.

There 2 centre backs are big slow lumps. Probably the slowest in the league. With Dwight in good form we need a couple of other players prepared to run off Dwight or running at those 2 centre backs / down the channels etc. Vydra was probably the one player on the bench capable of doing this best and he did not get brought on.
Gonna be a long long season

Lacklustre. Still too much hoofball, and this season we seem to have this habit of continuously passing backwards. Too many one footed players imo

Long 7 (showed tonight why he'd be an asset to any aspiting Championship team as he never really looked in trouble, but then again WBA looked every inch a championship team. If we have to keep picking him against the better teams, we're bug***ed)

Better of 2 poor looking sides and could and probably should have won, especially on the second half showing. I'll take the point, especially as it gets us moving, but overall, if you don't beat WBA, you're not going to beat many others this season I'd suggest. Maybe we'll look better when Sir Benjamin returns. Maybe?

I agree, he was excellent today. That header hitting the bar rather than nestling in the top right took the shine off a great centre forward display. Infinitely better than Barnes tonight.

2 very good sides on show tonight, and if they both continue to play and deliver quality performances like that, theyll both survive easily.
No reason both cant finish top half, and with some January additions could even challenge for a Europa spot.

Pope 8-Commanded his box last night and looked very reassuring.
Pieters 7-Though he had a good game barring he was out of position on a number of occasions.
Long 6-Fortunate he didn't have a great deal to do.
Tarkowski 7-His presence gives me more confidence.
Taylor 4-Big fan of Charlie but he hasn't cut it this season for me thus far.
JBG 4-Thought he was poor and never got into the game.
Brownhill 7-Very industrious. Think he'll move to the right once JC is fit.
Westwood 7-Got through a lot of work
McNeil 8-Definitely his best game of the season.
Barnes 5-It's hard to criticise AB but i'd be starting JayRod ahead of him if/when fit.
Wood 6-Average although his presence keeps defenders on their toes.

Brady 4-Poor sub for me and it affected our shape.
JayRod 5-Didn't offer much but if fit should have been on much sooner.
