Re: Man Utd debt !!
Why is the debt or directors taking money out bad if their business can support it?

there is 3 year+ long running thread on that subjectjojomk1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 2:18 pmhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sport ... LLION.html

as for today's news the gross debt is unchanged - all that has changed is the cash position - in much the same way a number of us have been saying the Burnley cash position would be similarly affected
there are some interesting accounting treatments and huge amounts of missing detail around Premier League revenue forecasts/rebate obligations in the short and medium term
all on the aforementioned thread

Re: Man Utd debt !!
Did I read they'd extended their sponsorship until Dec 21? Must be for the training ground, surely can't replace the shirt sponsorship mid-season?
Remember teams had companies go bust and still had same sponsor (Newcastle/ Northern Rock?)

Re: Man Utd debt !!
What's £474 million between friends.
Re: Man Utd debt !!
The principal debt position as CP has said has remained the same.
It’s also a lot lower than it was at its peak.
Yes the Glazers have made a fortune out of the club in interest and dividend payments but the reason that you don’t see United fans protesting against them anymore because it’s these owners who have made them the ‘richest’ club in the world. The value of the club is more than 2 billion - compare that to their value when the Glazers took over.
The Glazers have allowed the club to spend / waste hundreds of millions of pounds on buying players and paying astronomical salaries which are up there with any club in the world. The lack of success on the pitch is not down to the Glazers - it’s down to successive managers not being anywhere as good as Sir Alex and other clubs like City coming along who are also prepared to spend a billion pound on players.
Doesn’t mean I like the Glazers - I don’t......but my guess is any United fan who still feels the need to protest against them has no idea what they have done for the club financially !!

Also taking into account the average Man U fan lives in Kent or Japan, and doesn't give a flying sourcer about their debt.

Re: Man Utd debt !!
The amount of shirts they sell is more important to the owners than the amount of points they get.
