Their lawyer Nick De Marco has effectively got them 15 points in the last 4 months - that is a better performance than Monk I suspectevensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 9:12 pmA strange one, Wednesday have made up a fair bit of ground - not enough ground obviously....

Probably the best sports lawyer in the country if not Europe - so I doubt it - was made a QC over the summer

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
It appears a strange one from the outside, but maybe there's stuff we don't know about, however it's only a week ago that they ended Bournemouth's unbeaten start, and what's even more bizarre is that they've a win and a draw from their last 2 games, after suffering 3 straight defeats, if they were going to pot him, why not do it after a run of losses.

He doesn’t seem to last long anywhere really

He's been a dead man walking for quite awhile, they needed to bounce back with something more convincing than a home draw against millwall after the wycombe defeat & getting thrashed in the south yorkshire derby against rotherham didn't go down to well with the natives.

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
When he was at Swansea, working miracles on a small budget, punching above their weight etc, he was tipped as FEM and questions asked why he wouldn’t get a job with a big six club (same as Eddie). Now look at him, or perhaps more pertinently Dyche should look at him.

Paul Cook, Nigel Pearson and Tony Pulis the early front runners for the job with the club, reportedly, already in talks with Pulis.

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
Still blamed by Swansea fans for ending the traditional way they played - left both Middlesbrough and Birmingham under big black clouds. Five managerial departures now in five years for him. Maybe someone will finally work it out that he's not very good at it.
Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
It's all falling into place!
Bielsa to Man Utd
Monk back to Leeds!
Happy Christmas!

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
“Maybe the problem is Garry?”
“He has never managed a football club longer than two seasons. Every time he gets sacked he gets richer."
“He was sacked by Middlesbrough, won his case and got compensation."
“Football management is crazy. Every time you get sacked you get richer.”
Not my words - the words attributed to Xuandong Ren, Chairman of Birmingham City when he terminated Garry Monk's employment there.
What I do find odd is that Monk has managed a few clubs where he previously played so it seems he must have created a favourable impression then.

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
Apart from having a short spell on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, he's only managed and played for Swansea. and the SW loan was almost 18 years ago.Claret Toni wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 5:33 pm

Re: Sheff Wed sack Garry Monk
Whilst not disagreeing with the Birmingham chairman, after reading the first three lines it asks the question why appoint him in the first place?Claret Toni wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 5:33 pm“Maybe the problem is Garry?”

They do keep recruiting him though, he speaks well in front of the cameras he's got the gift of the gab & says the right things that alone in some circumstances can carry you far & conceal other weaknesses.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 4:09 pmStill blamed by Swansea fans for ending the traditional way they played - left both Middlesbrough and Birmingham under big black clouds.
