Managed to get to Skiathos twice this year, flew home from Havana Cuba on Tuesday. Ironically we were booked to stay in a pub in Whitby for Xmas but cancelled because of the current lockdown but got to fly 4000miles to Havana !!! Just booked for next Xmas for Cuba, hoping to go to the Canary Islands late Feb for the wife's birthday

Re: Holiday 2021
Easter and various Summer destinations booked for 2021 with 2022 Italian skiing holiday sorted. I'm only really confident of the last one actually happening. We'll see.

Scily Ilse look nice, but expensive to get there, as well as a long trip to Cornwall first.
Do want to go Cornwall with the kids though, so will bear in mind.

I'm making the most of the 710m2 I am limited to for the foreseeable future. The UK for domestic trips certainly has advantages.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 5:13 pmThere's an awful lot to see in this country, so not planning anything abroad next year.
Was planning a trip to Hong Kong early next year but the reciprocal travel bubble got cancelled at the last minute.
14 days in a hotel room at my own cost on return to Singapore from any destination makes any travel impossible.

Re: Holiday 2021
Pretty sure we will be fine come summer to have a reasonably normal holiday. Airport procedures may have changed etc. But I don’t think there will be restrictions. Last summer was permitted pre vaccine. By next year I’d expect vaccines have made an affect and testing should be way better.

Re: Holiday 2021
The damage to the Mental Health of both myself and my wife this year means we have booked our summer holiday for 2021 to Kos in Greece hopefully it happens if it doesn't it doesn't, but we need to believe and have something positive to look forward to.
I have signed up to do The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for the Alzheimers Socierty in June. This will encourage me to get out and about. I have also signed up to walk 1000 miles in 2021 through Country Walking Magazine's campaign #walk1000miles
Whether or not I am on the Turf, I intend to not sit on my derriere through 2021 but to get fit, physically and mentally through walking.
I have purchased tickets to see James, New Order and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark throughout the next year and I am sharing a ticket across the Lytham Festival so doing 40 or 60% of that.
The wife has booked a girly weekend away already and she is going to watch the Musical Chicago in Manchester.
Yes some, possibly all these will be cancelled but they are all from June onwards and maybe just maybe all will still go ahead.
I totally understand that many of you are reticent to book or plan anything and there is nothing wrong with that, I would just prefer something to look forward to.
One last thing if you carefully book an hotel stay on booking.com some stays offer full refunds in the booking conditions, we did this as we were supposed to go to Budapest in October. Once the flights were cancelled, we got a full refund on accommodation.

Re: Holiday 2021
Get back in the motorhome when the weather picks up.
Been mainly visiting the East coast these last few years after normally going down the West. I can confirm the weather is a lot better on the East side.
As scenic as Wales is, it's not half wet and windy.

Re: Holiday 2021
I saw the tacky Ryanair advert last night.
My take was they were implying it will be safe to travel because there is a vaccine and everyone will be welcome with open arms from Easter in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece. Unfortunately there are only 1 million seats so you need to get in quick!
The strap at the end is misleading so you may be correct.
RYANAIR
JAB & GO!
The reality may of course be very different in 2021.

Re: Holiday 2021
We normally go abroad x3 a year but all our 2020 holidays got cancelled so with the cash I saved I bought a motorhome, plenty of uk and France holidays for us for the next few years because I can't see us having normal holidays for at least two year's, and the motorhome will come in handy with some of the long distance away game weekends lol

I would have to have a very good reason to travel with them anyway after recent experiences.DomBFC1882 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 11:07 pmAnyone seen that Ryanair advert jab and go? Its basically saying you're not allowed unless you have the vaccine![]()

Delete options as applicable;
1. I fully deserve to go on holiday during this pandemic to (a) transport COVID to my resort (b) bring COVID back to my neighbourhood.
2. Because (a) I’m an idiot (b) I’m an idiot.

Is that inside or outside the Motorhome (some of that welsh ale is a tad p*ss poor ......)Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 6:36 pmGet back in the motorhome when the weather picks up.

Re: Holiday 2021
Complete lack of responses??? Perhaps I included too many confusing options? 2, (a) or (b) is acceptable. Alternatively you could just acknowledge family relationship with (a) yesterday's ref or (b) Elland Rd groundsman.jackmiggins wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:11 amDelete options as applicable;

Re: Holiday 2021
If you're looking for responses, I supposes I could agree your choices for option 2 - if you claim yourself to be an idiot, I will not disagree.jackmiggins wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 11:40 amComplete lack of responses??? A holiday thread going well, then miggins has to show his face
I haven't taken, or got Covid from abroad
A trip to the local, Covid safe supermarket however resulted in getting it..... I think I'll stick to going away, much safer
