So assuming they lose today, and we say 38 points has a decent chance of staying up, Sheffield U will need 36 points from their remaining 21 games.

Their next 6 league games include games vs Spurs, Man U, Man City and Chelsea.

I wouldn’t rule Leeds out of relegation despite all the noise...

33/1 is a great price....we are 11/4

Nonsense odds for a team with 2 top 10 finishes in the last 3 seasons compared to a newly promoted team that can’t defend.

Felt much the same all along to be honest. They had the Norwich bounce and they are better prepared for the Premier than Norwich but remain far behind us for the long haul of the Premier IMO.

I came across this info, you have to go back a long way.

Fewest points in a season (2 points for a win): 8, joint record:
Loughborough (Second Division, 1899–1900)
Doncaster Rovers (Second Division, 1904–05)

Obviously the record low with 3 points for a win is Derby.

I do fear for the Blades reaching double figures on their present form. So Derby's unwanted record might be under serious threat.

Sheffield United will finish rock bottom... I cant see them getting into double figures points wise. Best to start planning for the Championship in January

Leeds remind of Coyles Burnley team in the Premier League - pundits loved our gung-ho approach but we shipped in loads of goals and started to lose more often.

As Tim in London points out on BBC feed

If Sheffield United need say 35 points to be safe, their second half of the season has to be pretty much as good as Liverpool's first half, give or take a game or two.

Stick with the manager, try to beat Derby's 11, go down with some pride, dignity & a wodge of cash.

I agree CTU, I liken them to Holloways Blackpool. They had some fine wins but regularly ran out of steam after eighty mins or so. Fortunately.

The best way to look at it from their point of view is that they currently need to claw back an eleven point gap to Brighton (13 points) first and foremost, rather than think about how many points they will need.

If Sheff Utd pick up the same points per game for the rest of the season as they did over the course of last season then they'll only be a few points short. Trouble is, this side isn't showing any signs of getting close to the levels of last season so they can be safely written off.

True that. I wonder if they'll start playing with more freedom as the season goes on and pick up some points though. Wilder looked pretty relaxed before kick off like he was resigned to their fate.

If they'd beaten man utd I'd have been scared to play them. They'd probably have won every match and be mid table by now.

Only takes a win to get a team fired up (look at us!) But they just look hapless

And yet when Leicester got that late goal against them recently he looked a broken man.

Since then I think he’s received the backing from the hierarchy & it’s been established that he’s the man to mount the promotion charge next season, it’ll be interesting to see if the patience holds firm the longer the results deteriorate.

And so he should given what he’s done there. Interesting comments from him this week too how they’ve progressed with the promotions and left other areas of the club behind.

He has done a lot of good overall but I think he didn’t spend as well as he could of done, £20 mill + for Brewster seems excessive, I think the longer this goes on he’ll get fed up & resign or they’ll eventually end up sacking him, I think the fixtures ahead are dreadful for them as well, both Manchester clubs & Tottenham.

He's so dull isn't he. That's the problem with so many televised games, the C-list commentators and pundits get an airing.
