New Badge

I grew up with the two lions crest, but do prefer the current one. I’ve nothing against the previous one other than I think it’s busy (in contrast to modern, marketing focussed designs) and is quite similar in style to other old crest designs.

Although actually old, the current crest is a little more minimal and therefore perhaps modern looking, but I don’t think it’s instantly recognisable as being Burnley.

I’d like a modern design, perhaps with a nod to tradition that easily identifiable (certainly not like the one posted further up with the odd shaped lions head).

I actually think the current one has way too much going on.

I didn't know what all the symbols within the badge meant, so looked them up, and apparently;

The hand embodies the town’s motto that is “Hold to the Truth”.
The lion stands for royalty to commemorate Prince Albert’s visit.
The stork on a hill in the cotton field reminds us of the cotton industry.
The bee says that Burnley is a busy town.

I don’t like all the yellow on the current badge. I prefer the 1930’s version or the monochrome one that
Rammyclaret showed us.

I actually think the current one has way too much going on.

I wouldn’t disagree - but certainly less than the previous.

Badges don’t need to be complicated. We don’t need to have 4-5 different symbols. It just pollutes the crest. The current badge is a crest within a crest!

Had a go at simplifying the current crest. Got rid of the 'outer crest' and a couple of other elements.

Remember my Mum stitching that '69 BFC onto a Claret & Blue shirt I'd got hold of in 1970.

I had one sewn onto my black school jumper! Never got in trouble from the school for it but going to school in Blackburn it upset a lot of the pupils!

I think The Strip Burnley played in Last night was the Best I've Ever seen....how long as that been around. Very Nice.

How about a red rose surrounded by a blue circle with our motto at the base of the circle and the words Burnley Football Club in the circle.

The strange zig zag elemment represents the river Brun running through the town.
