We had just recorded a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, Nulty and Probert scoring. I was born the day before we travelled to Newcastle, who sadly had not read the script winning 3-1 again Probert netting for us.

Should of known what being a Burnley fan was going to be like when we were relegated at the end of the season...

Burnley had just finished 3rd in the old First Division. In 1963/64 there was a dip in form and the team finished 9th and got to the Quater Finals of the FA Cup. I think Jimmy Mac might have left by then

I popped into the world a couple of hours past midnight after a season opening 2-2 draw v Arsenal at Highbury. To celebrate my arrival we beat Ipswich 4-3 at Turf Moor 2 days later.

We finished the season runners up to Ipswich, and reached Wembley in the FA Cup.

First match after arrival Fulham 1 Burnley 1 with Leighton James putting us 1-0 up in the first half. Just watched the highlights for the first time and it looked an entertaining game.

They were on their summer holidays, preparing for the coming season, when they would win Div 1 for the second time.

I was born on Friday, the day after we lost to Man utd away 4:2, at the end of the season we finished on 55 points in 3rd place, Burnley's Willie Irvine and Liverpool's Rodger Hunt were joint top scorers on 29 goals, Blackburn got relegated with 20 points and 82 days after the end of the season England won the World Cup, so not a bad year

I was born seven days before the start of the season, when we lost 0-1 at home to Middlesbrough.

Three days later we were again at home, beating Stoke 3-2, Les Shannon(2) and Jimmy Mac being the scorers.

When I arrived they would've been busy reviewing all the mp4 footage/slow motion replays/VAR decisions of a 6-2 defeat at Luton; it must've worked, as they beat Portsmouth in the FA Cup a few days later.

Not a bad start to my Clarets life, we beat West Brom 5-1 with goals from Talbut (OG), Irvine 2 and Lochead 2 on the exact day I was born!

Nearest game to when I arrived was 2nd May 1960, we beat Man City 2 -1 away, Pilkington & Meredith scoring in front of 66,000 fans.
So making us...... CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND.
