Excellent first episode.
But a little strange watching Sean Bean playing a relatively timid teacher.
But he was very good.
Looking forward to the remaining 2 episodes.

Very depressing...you guys watching three hours of that will be slitting your throat by the end...think ill watch it as they come each Sunday,to say it was depressing it wasnt bad..typical Jimmy McGovern fayre.

I still can't get over how many top actors were in this.

When I looked at the brief description, my favourite actor Stephen Graham wasn't even on the three listed.

Maybe it's been made in lockdown and not much work about for the actors? But you certainly couldn't tell they were keeping their distance from one another.

Just watched the first episode. It’s not very realistic - not a PlayStation or flat-screen TV to be seen.

Unusual role for Stephen Graham. Excellent actor who's presence in dramas like this usually assures the viewer of a good watch.

Not to be judged until you watch all three episodes

Powerful and thought provoking

Best drama I have seen for a long while

Just watched the second one tonight. Prison dramas are often too cliched, and whilst this does have some of the obvious ingredients there’s a lot of depth to the story. Great performances by both Graham and Bean too.

The whole thing was written with Graham and bean in mind and it showed. Absolutely fantastic series and a wonderful cast. Terrific

Brilliant drama very gripping & excellent acting, the young lad should have just gone into segregation with the nonces definitely the best option than mixing with toxic/violent people not implying the nonces aren't toxic, but he would have been better protected, I guess the right option & solution wouldn't have made the drama series what it was.

Just reading that the lady who plays Stephen Graham's wife in the drama, is actually his wife in real life.

He also had something to do with making the drama so it might explain such a star studded line up.

Only watched the first episode so far. Hope to watch the next two tonight. Stephen Graham is absolutely brilliant. I don't think there is anything he has done recently which has disappointed. Top, top actor. Always loved Sean Bean but it's a given he'll be good.

I wonder if part of the thinking there would be no social distancing requirements in car scenes etc

There was no social distancing in the fight scenes either, especially the one where Bean was assaulted in his own cell.

Excellent drama, watched all 3 episodes last night. Particularly liked the nod to restorative justice, redemption and ultimately forgiveness. A thinking man's prison drama.

Finally watched the third episode tonight (the old fashioned way....haven't used the iPlayer for this one) and what a superb series. With this and The Virtues, which was on C4 a couple of years ago) Stephen graham has been involved in two of the best TV dramas I have seen.

You’ve not watched Code 404 then? :?

(Although admittedly I only gave it a few episodes but it didn’t feel right him being in a “comedy”)

I watched the final episode last night. It felt particularly poignant on Fathers Day given the importance of father son relationships to the narrative.
