Hardly a surprise. They’ve been telling us that all last week, that it’s all been about him negotiating his exit from Fulham.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 12:45 pmAgree it has been on the cards all summer but Sky are now saying he’ll be in by Monday.

Re: Scott Parker to Bournemouth
Been going on for weeks but Parker wanted to avoid being sacked and Bournemouth didn’t want to pay the buy out clause for him which had led to Parker & Fulham negotiating a termination agreement.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 12:51 pmNot arguing T, to be honest I’d not been watching it closely and thought it had already happened, tbh
As for Bournemouth, Woodgate remains manager until his contract ends which I think is Wednesday this week. Eight years with one manager and then three changes in under a year.

Can I be the first to say Dyche to Fulham ?

Re: Scott Parker to Bournemouth
Strange appointment for me, he's done ok at Fulham, and did get them up again, but he looked a broken man towards the end of the PL campaign.
It seems bizarre that you get a club relegated and yet there's interest in your services, but I guess Bournemouth see something in Parker that makes them think he'll get them back to the big time, I have my doubts TBH, especially if Bournemouth have to shred a few stars.

Be honest with you I don’t get all this Parker hype. I know Fulham is a strange setup but he hasn’t done anything to warrant all the publicity he’s getting.

Re: Scott Parker to Bournemouth
No I agree, sure he got Fulham back up, but they returned to the Championship with a whimper, and they never really looked like surviving at any point in the season.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 2:34 pmBe honest with you I don’t get all this Parker hype. And yet for some reason the media seem to be falling over themselves over Parker, I think he has the potential to be a decent manager given more experience, but he's not exactly proven he's top drawer just yet.
And it's telling that it's a Championship club he's going too, now he may be successful at Bournemouth, but I wouldn't put your mortgage on that being the outcome. And even if he does get them back to the Prem he'll face the same challenges he encountered at Fulham, and that's how will he keep them there.
He's still in the very early stages of his managerial career, but he's in danger of becoming one of those managers who can get teams promoted from the Champ, but who's found out of his depth in the PL.

Re: Scott Parker to Bournemouth
4-0 humiliation. Nearly got nicked at full time with Andy Short for having such a go at the players. Peter Devine laughing at the protests as he walked off didn't help the situation. Coach load of Nelson Gasworkers refusing to get on the bus until the players and staff came out and heard how angry we were. I think it also delayed the departure of our more sensible supporters coach.....

Sky Bet currently have Wilder & Cooper as the most likely, followed by Howe and Dyche. That list is somewhat predictable.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:51 amit'll be very interesting to see who Fulham go for, no doubt they'll be given a decent wedge to spend

Seen there was talk of Favre getting the Palace job, this after he had advanced talks, was about to be appointed then remembered he needing a longer rest. Wonder if a job he fancied more didn't come up somewhere else and has now gone back to Palace saying he has had his rest now.

Re: Scott Parker to Bournemouth
Silva had some great success abroad, took over a hopeless Hull side mid season and delivered results that had he been manager for the full season they would have stayed up.
he started off brilliantly at Watford and got his head turned by Everton and after that he was a disaster. Finished 8th with Everton which was about meets expectations and then struggled the next season and probably deserved to be sacked
His record abroad was wining the Portuguese second division, getting a job at Sporting who he finished 3rd and won the cup. He lost his job because he didnt wear a club suit in an FA Cup match. He got a job at Olymiacos where he broke the European record for most consecutive domestic wins in a row whilst walking the league.
In retrospect his record across his career is a lot better than most Championship managers so whilst noone can say if it will work or not on paper its hardly a poor appointment. I would say the question mark around Silva is more to do with his character than his management ability as a lot of the time things have gone wrong and/or he has left a club is to do with off the pitch activities.
