Re: Today's Games
Trust it to be English officials who **** up yet another decision. Awful decision.

2 things…
#1 Never a red card
#2 What is the point of Peter Walton. Might as well have my goldfish as summarisers

Re: Today's Games
Simply not a sending off offence.
There was an earlier booking that was nonsense as well.
The sport of football is embarrassing these days

I can answer that one. There is no point.Leyland Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 6:37 pmWhat is the point of Peter Walton. Might as well have my goldfish as summarisers
Re: Today's Games
As bad a decision as the Sweden sending off.
Dixon talking sense. A loud screamy wail and the English ref buys it.
I thought Peter Walton was an MP for someone. Even if he isn't he has all the qualities needed.

Oliver at it again, couldnt wait to get the red out.
He does tend to like the big boys, to get involved and get the attention on him when there's often no need.
Someone must rate him somewhere, he keeps getting the gigs, yet I dont rate him.

Re: Today's Games
Like the red card the other night, ball was won and the momentum carried the “challenge” through.
These footballers need to work out a way of defying the laws of physics and stopping dead still once contact is made with the ball

Re: Today's Games
I've been saying for the last 3-4 seasons that Oliver has gone backwards in his career and decisions like that indicate he's still going backwards

Re: Today's Games
Not a red for me, while his feet were a bit high he didn't appear out of control and it certainly wasn't a lunge at a player. He won the ball too.

Re: Today's Games
Pathetic red might as well ban tackling altogether if that's a sending off.
I was just about to post Olivier was having a quiet game, and then he goes and does that, always has to be the star doesn't he.
One of the good things if England advance in the tournament is the PL officials won't be required in the latter stages thankfully.

Re: Today's Games
Has anyone got a clip of it? Only saw the one replay and it appeared both feet were off the ground and one was shin-high with studs showing. Therefore out of control and endangering the opponent. Happy to be corrected once I’ve seen another replay.
Re: Today's Games
Tackling an opponent used to be a big part of the game.....sadly no more, normally it's just given as a free kick. A man's game ?

If there any Footballing God's not in the pub or not affected by social distancing, sorting out a few scenarios of a Swiss win would be good.

Re: Today's Games
Cheers wilks. I’ll stand by my first thought that it’s a red card. Looked even worse in real time than in slow motion too so can completely understand why it was given.
Re: Today's Games
I don’t normally argue with anyone about anything on this message board but you’re wrong.

Re: Today's Games
Well I’m not wrong because a red card was given by a professional referee and his decision was agreed with by a former professional ref. By all means disagree as it seems I’m in a minority, but if anyone’s wrong it’s you.

Swiss are starting to look tired here.
Getting no distance on the clearances and the tackles looking “lazy”

A disgraceful red card , there’s no hope VAR will improve in the PL while we have these incompetent English officials

Re: Today's Games
Apparently claret, it is now an offence to endanger your opponent whilst making a tackle......although it was ok for the last 130 years ! Football is going soft.

Re: Today's Games
Yeah, the guy is pretty useless. But I’m being told that I’m wrong that it was a red card when the referee, VAR and ex-professional say it was a red card. People have already demonstrated on here that they don’t understand the laws of the game, so as much as I’d love Switzerland to win, I am not letting that bias cloud my understanding of the laws.

Re: Today's Games
that's like saying Frank Lampards goal that wasn't given against Germany wasn't a goal because it wasn't given - clear refereeing error and we've just seen another today from a **** poor ref
