Re: Dyche's best signing
Too many to pick just one.
The three Amigos in his first summer transfer window take some beating, but then you have Barton and Defour. who were influential in their time.
Barnes for his longevity and goals, Keane for the Rolls Royce and bringing us the most money.
And you could choose a number of them from the current team.

I’d love to pick Defour but I don’t think we got the longevity for him to warrant being classed as Dyche’s best signing.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 11:42 pmToo many to pick just one.

If it was the best player that Dyche had signed, it’d probably not be far off a one horse race.
It’s tough to call between four standouts for me…. Tarkowski, Heaton, Pope and Keane. Not only taking into account contribution, but also the cost of said players.
Fingers crossed we’ll be saying the same about Collins in a year or two!!

Yes, we probably do need an exact definition of 'best'.DCWat wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 11:48 pmI’d love to pick Defour but I don’t think we got the longevity for him to warrant being classed as Dyche’s best signing.

Re: Dyche's best signing
As above Heaton, Jones and Arfield were key to where it all began.
Barton and Gray to help us get straight back up as well.

Jones really showed how much McCann had declined. He bought the best out of Dean Marney.

Re: Dyche's best signing
Not easy to choose but...
Heaton, Arfield, Ward and Jones.

Re: Dyche's best signing
The best in terms ability was head and shoulders Defour.
Thought I’d see George Boyd get a mention he was immense for us under Dyche him and Scotty Arfield.

Re: Dyche's best signing
My original thought was Heaton - relegated championship goalie - let's in 80. Dyche sees what he really is - great goalie - better person. Turns into an England international, club captain. Free transfer.
But then, thinking about it, the Joey Barton signing was a stroke of f***king genius. Another free and exactly what we needed to get back in the Prem. No-one else would touch him, but Dyche saw through it and what he could bring to the team. Got us back to the Prem - genius.

Tom Heaton for me, but Joey Barton is a very close 2nd.

A bit controversially …Gray. Did exactly the job we wanted and we made a tidy profit

Re: Dyche's best signing
Joey was the first name to jump out at me and will have to think about the other two
Re: Dyche's best signing
Initial thought is Heaton... but there's a few.
- Pope
- Lowton
- Keane
- Tarks
- Barton
- Arfield
- Westwood
- Gray (controversial maybe, but what do you want from a signing? Promotion, Profit and the fact we never missed Ings)
- Wood
- Barnes

- Keane

- Barton
- Arfield

Re: Dyche's best signing
My three votes were for:
- Tom Heaton
- Joey Barton
- James Tarkowski
But you could easily argue for every single one of them, great shortlist.
