Have to admit 've not seen him before but in the pictures he seemed to be a big lad, towering over Tark's, I was surprised, is he that tall?
Re: REPORT: Thomas Towers to Head Home the Winner at Blackpool
I'm surprised too that you're saying he's much bigger than his peers. Where did you see the picture of them where he was looked like the big one?

Re: REPORT: Thomas Towers to Head Home the Winner at Blackpool
It was a good workout for both sides. We should have scored more than the one, especially in the second half and they could have scored a couple also. Gomez-Mancini did well but he's no right sided midfielder, again a victim of our inability to find a regular, quality player for that position. That and someone able to 'pick a pass' from midfield or 'drop a shoulder' to create an opening would definitely make us far more competitive and threatening from an attacking perspective. Good to get out, though and watch a live game without the constant, mundane chatter of pundits and commentators in my ears.

Re: REPORT: Thomas Towers to Head Home the Winner at Blackpool
On the subject of towers, trams, etc. Back in 2011/12, jdrobbo challenged me to get as many references to Blackpool in a report but we lost 4-0 so I couldn't be bothered.
I'd done one in the previous season at Watford, getting as many Elton John song titles into the report as I could. I was so grateful to DANIEL Drinkwater firing a shot wide in the first two minutes. That was the one when IanMcL gave Lee Grant 5 out of 10 in the ratings because he said he should have saved it.

I see Rob Harker featured last night after his good start with the U23s. It will be a big boost for him.

this was one of them, not the header below, maybe the angle, I was just asking if he is tall, that's all

Thomas looked very good last night, not only did he win pretty much every header he also showed good composure on the ball and his positioning was good. Albeit it's hard to judge from one game in pre-season against lower league opposition but positionally he looked better than Dunne ever did. I have high hopes for him tbh

It's a strange on with Thomas in that he went out on loan to Kendal during his second year as a scholar and I wondered if he was set to be released. But he came back when the u23s had a defensive injury crisis, stepped in and has never looked back.

I thought he did well, certainly in the air. Played on the left side of the defensive pair and at times just looked a little awkward on his left foot. Anyone know who the ref was. He looked familiar but I couldn't put a name to the face.

Or Ian Towers, Burnley's first ever substitute.

When I get a bit loopy, I'll carry a wee slip of paper, saying 'Ask Tony'. That should get me through the worst!
