I see the pre-season meltdown is well advanced.

Par for the course on here, I prefer when we're poor in the build-up, normally that means we'll enjoy a decent campaign, it's when we play like Brazil in the warm-up games that I worry.

Today matters not a jot, as long as we get some further fitness, and crucially avoid injuries, that's the important thing.

Whilst I pretty much agree with most of that, the fact that we can’t seem to land any significant targets (again) is getting both wearisome and worrying. The squad is aging rapidly. It needs investment.

Our players can get as fit as they want but without new signings it won't do a lot for us.

Yes we do need to strengthen everyone can see that, but we have the core of a decent side, it just needs a couple of additions, which hopefully we'll get in the next week or two, but it's far too early to panic before we've even kicked a ball in the PL.
