He stuck two in against St Etienne in the Rhone Valley Derby in December; French football's most atmospheric fixture, mainly due to the St Etienne fans. the best fans in France. Lyon won 2-1. So he'll be okay with our electric atmosphere. Haha!

The times he plays out wide is similar to how Rodriguez can play the in a 433.

That was under the last Charlatan, let's at least give the new guys a chance.
Lets not pretend they genuinely had enough time to start sorting the mess out in the January window.
I'm sure this and the next w windows will be far more productive than the last 3 under Magic Mike.

Dyche Fit is a myth. We concede a lot of late goals to say our players are supposedly fitter and more game aware than others.

I’ve been hugely impressed with some of the things ALK have done so far, and agree they deserve their chance. Some of the meltdowns from adult fans on Twitter are quite embarrassing, but I am getting more nervous now that we’re 3 weeks to go and seemingly devoid of any serious links/progress on our targets.MACCA wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 9:03 amThat was under the last Charlatan, let's at least give the new guys a chance.

Not sure why we’d take this approach when it’s obvious that the first team needed strengthening before the season started. There can be no complaints of lack of preparation time on this occasion. With the Adams, Willock, etc deals being agreed, we can’t keep rolling out the same old “slow market” excuses.
I suppose it won’t matter and will all be forgotten if we make the right signings over the next few weeks. It’s the hope that kills you.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I think your statement is a myth. Last season we conceded 5 goals later than the 80th minute, which including injury time is pretty much 15 minutes. Is this a lot? I don't know how it compares with other sides but that time period represents just 9% of our total goals conceded, which seems quite low considering it's generally the period of the game that sees the most goals. These goals were against Chelsea, Man Utd. and Liverpool, the other being the penalty we conceded against Wolves which was conceded by the fresh-legged Benson if I remember correctly.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 9:10 amDyche Fit is a myth. Our players are certainly fitter, or at least play with more intensity than most sides. It makes up for our weaknesses. How often do you hear the opposition praise our physicality.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I agree with you, we're a hard working side. Last season we looked an old side at times though, Leeds home game and WBA home game we were absolutely dead on our feet.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 9:32 amI think your statement is a myth. We are a hard working side certainly, but to say we are fitter than other Premier League sides is not true.We have very little youth, pace or creativity in the side so make up for it with effort.

Well said
The effort is undoubtedly there, but our aging squad are now caught out far too many times for a lack of pace. We have wide men like JBG who don't have the pace to beat full backs on the outside. We have CM's who get caught at either end of the pitch because they just cannot keep up with the opposition and defenders now being short of pace when the ball comes over the top

Jojo that is absolutely spot on. It’s obvious to anyone that watches Burnley including Sean must see that. Why we aren’t looking at buying players that could inject a bit of pace to the team is beyond me.
We are caught out so many times because of our lack of pace throughout the team. Having pace going forward is essential to any team, helps relieve the pressure on the defenders. Hopefully we might have someone or two in the pipeline that we can bring in
Saying all that I’m still looking forward to Saturday. As someone said in a previous comment, it will be so good to see the lads that are sat round us. COYC

A massive rebuild was required a couple of seasons ago, it’s never going to happen. We evidently can’t sign the players we want so will continue to plug the gaps with short term solutions.
We still haven’t replaced half the team that left within the last 3 or 4 years.
In the last couple of years we’ve signed Ben Gibson’s replacement, a lad who never played.

You forget Brownhill, who essentially replaced Hendrick, but in broad terms I do agree with you, we haven't really improved our starting XI since about 2017/2018, and that rut can't be allowed to continue if we're to have a credible shot at staying in the PL.claret2018 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 10:28 amA massive rebuild was required a couple of seasons ago, it’s never going to happen. Last season should have been a clear warning sign that we badly need to strengthen, and failure to do so in this window will be negligence of the highest regard by ALK, still there is another 3 week, remaining to get the signings in the building we sorely need, so we can all still live in hope of developments before August is out.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I just don't understand why buythe club in the first place.and have no money to strengthen
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
SPOT ON - its a massive, massive gamble if the plan is to generate more revenue by off the field stuff and hope the manager (As next season it might not be SD) to over achieve year after year as the only hope the off field generates at its peak is us to remain a premier league club.
IF nobody else gets signed before end of this window.....
and SD signs a new contract AFTER this window ends what would you make of that ??
He has bought into the future with ALK and he believes moving forward more money than the previous regime will become available in time/future windows ?

Why would he sign a contract when we're not even able to strengthen the squad?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I'm not so sure, Dyche keeps rolling out the line when asked about Dwight "he is still here, and so am I" I might be reading in to it too much, but there was talk of "if Tarky goes so do I " in January (true or false I don't know) but if it is true, then who is to say he has not said the same about Dwight, and willing to stay if we keep him? I think most will agree just as important as getting players in, is keeping what we have.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Is it not nice to get paid handsomely whilst waiting for something else to drop ? is it not family security to be in a job whilst looking for another one especially if its in the same industry ? he might also look at some managers currently "stuck on the shelf" like a Howe, like a Wilder and think another job if I walk is not 100% guaranteed ?ClaretAndJew wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:03 pmWhy would he sign a contract when we're not even able to strengthen the squad?
