Wrong thread , it’s not rocket science apparently oh and stop bitching on a fan’s websiteelwaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 3:23 pmAll those calling Mike a Garlick, and indeed Pace. Should ask themselves why such men can Afford to be such disappointments to you.
They have run Burnley football club and progressed it. Barry Kirby did not have the money needed, Garlick was brought in. When Kirby and Garlick ran out of ideas they brought in Pace.
It would have been much better, I assume, nfor some if wads of cash had been the main criteria… because that has worked so well for most who try it.
If Pace can leave having advanced the club as much as the previous regime, I suggest it is the critics that need to look at themselves, and if they are more capable, maybe they should be getting those extra millions into their banks to make an offer rather than waste their time bitching on a fan website.

Sept 1st is the time to panic, lets be honest here
The ones calling them out now, are the ones who moan about everything anyway
I hope I'm right about them, but I might be wrong, and I think its better to be like that rather slagging off everything so I can say "told you so"

About sums you up. I skip some posters because they offer nothing but bile and think themselves hilarious for it. Then use the “got you” because they lack the intellect to use reason. I don’t get wound up, I use reason as a basis to argue. Look it up, it’s great

Not sure but I hope so. Think last time he was trying to get back his mojo after not really being in Spurs plans. This season he would be joining us having had a great season. Probably a very different outlook and player, if he does/has signed

The end of the day we all have our opinion on the board and how they are operating (or how they purchased the club) but there is next to nothing we can do about it so let’s hope they do what they say they are going to do.
So let’s all do what we can affect and that is cheer on our team for the first time in nearly 18 months.
Let’s make the Turf a fortress tomorrow

Is Alan Nixon suggesting the only players we were really interested are the ones no longer available?

We should chase one or two targets we are never likely to get and when we don’t get them have no back up. Why change a losing formula.

You don’t have to buy the £50 ones!buzzclarets79 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 3:25 pmSo we line up tomorrow with not a single new signing in the starting 11 from last season. That I’m afraid is absolutely shocking, yet now some seats in Turf Moor are now £50 per match. Alarm bells ringing yet?
Just like you don’t have to buy first class plane tickets or a Porsche. Your regular car will still get you from A to B.

It’s all we can do there’s nothing nobody can do apart from the powers that be, some people are disappointed & feel they’ve been led on a merry dance & by now pre Brighton we should have the strongest outfit possible, it’s a case of let’s see what happens & hope for the best seems to be the way forward.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:33 pmThe end of the day we all have our opinion on the board and how they are operating (or how they purchased the club) but there is next to nothing we can do about it so let’s hope they do what they say they are going to do.

Very valid source
Course, you'd have hoped that we've already talked to Cornets people about wages and stuff, so that bit doesn't appear as a surprise*

That of course is true, not saying it isn’t, most will no doubt avoid the £50 seats but I bet the clarets who sit in these £50 seats and have for a number of years won’t be happy. Quick enough to put prices up yet have yet to deliver on signings.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:46 pmYou don’t have to buy the £50 ones!

It seems we have been linked with defensive minded wingers or wing backs all through the window. We really wanted Young and if Villa hadn't moved in think we would have got him. Cornet another target LWB. Maybe this is a plan to give us an option to play 3-5-2 or 4-4-1-2 with McNeil taking a more central position. Would make sense and give us a plan B and C when our traditional system isn't working. Just my thoughts.

I've read the article on foot mercato, and unless I'm missing something it doesn't say it's been accepted. It only states that we have bid and it meets the expectations. Or am I reading the wrong article?

As we know, Peter Bosz impatiently awaits reinforcements before midnight August 31st. But the Dutch technician from Olympique Lyonnais could see a new element leave OL in the coming hours after Jean Lucas. This is Maxwel Cornet. The converted left-back striker under the leadership of Rudi Garcia was in the sights of Hertha Berlin and Burnley as reported by the Team .
The English team had made a first offer estimated at more than 10 million euros. Offer rejected by the Rhone leaders who demand at least 15 million to sell the main protagonist. Not enough to curb the English enthusiasm in this file. According to our information, the latter has returned to the charge in recent hours with a new offer officially sent to the club chaired by Jean-Michel Aulas.
Burnley ready to break the bank for Cornet
This time, the residents of Turf Moor have raised their proposal to more than 16 million euros. With such a move, Burnley is clearly one step ahead of Hertha Berlin in this matter. For several weeks, OL have been expecting the departure of the Ivorian international. It is with this in mind that the sporting director Juninho is prospecting to find the rare pearl capable of occupying the post of holder in the left lane of the Lyon defense.
Indeed, the young Brazilian defender Henrique is more of a lining than a potential holder in the eyes of Peter Bosz. In recent hours, the name of Layvin Kurzawa has returned with insistence in the corridors of Groupama Stadium . It remains to be seen whether the upper echelons of the Rhone will accept the English offer, and whether Maxwel Cornet is approaching or not a departure in the Premier League ...

If Pace is not on the phone to Walls ice cream and copyrighting the name for Burnley football club than he’s missing a trick. Get your hot dogs… twinkies… sodas… Max Cornets here.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Don't think anybody was expecting us to spend £75 million or anything but gaps are widening and we have not got the funds to plug them. We lost Brady, we will lose Tarks and we have got Collins who has alot to prove to become as good as tarks in his prime.
The midfield is ageing apart from Brownhills and our strikers at the end of this season will be 32, 32, 30 and 30 years old, how much will it cost to try and replace any of those ?
If you can't spend big money and sign 5-7 players in 1 window then you have to wiggle them bit by bit window by window. Everybody knows January is notoriously bad for signings very little goes on in that window for various reasons so it's worrying that progress is very slow. A dismal window just means extra pressure on the next one and so on.
Hopefully though in next 2 weeks things will change
