That was the same problem last week against Brighton we had nothing on the bench to make an impact were it matteredSilkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:32 pmAnd which of the subs were going to influence that game? One of the two goalies maybe? We haven't got a bench and not had one for a long time where anyone can affect a game. Get real.

Burnley were 1 of the 3 lowest scoring teams last season but nothing has been done thus far in over 10 weeks of a transfer window to try and improve the situation. Still 10 days left though.Blatherwickstattoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:31 pmDid well, I just can’t see where the goals are going to come from.

A tad harsh as the Jay Rod chance was nice footwork and lashed at the 1st touch , matched with an excellent typical Allison save

The two players were converging, so ref has no decision. Had the angle been straight line verses one coming in, then pen. Harsh but fair.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 1:13 pm100% penalty - you can’t just run up and barge someone off the ball without attempting to win it - but we never get pens anyway

I thought they should have had a sending off when JBG was elbowed to the ground in the first half by their last man, would like to see the highlight of that again!

Good performance today, encouraging signs similar to last week, we are criminally short of options atm to refuel and refresh. 2 quality additions in the final weeks of the window and we'll be more than fine I think. It's so frustrating we really are so close but so far, 2 big signings make a huge difference we just wont get them over the line imo.
It's sad after all Dyche has done for this club he's continuously let down in the windows and left short every season. We haven't really spent anything net this window, where's the budget? We spent over £40m in 2017 with no major outgoings, we are now in debt due to a takeover, i'd rather us be in debt funding transfers to improve us on the pitch.

I don’t know if it’s been discussed this afternoon on this thread or was just me or has anyone else thought that the Tarky header at the goal in the second half got an arm deflection for a corner rather then a goal kick awarded?

Re: Match thread vs Liverpool (A)
This.
Liverpool are a completely different side when he is playing. He mobilises and organises them from the back through the middle and to the front. His positioning is fantastic. He rarely (if ever) puts a foot wrong and his passing is superb. He is the best centre back in the League - probably the World- and its no surprise they were so off it last season without him.
Whoever finishes above Liverpool will win the league this season.

His vision (to see we were overloaded 2 v 4) to see and then the technique to pass it perfectlyBabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 10:22 amThis.

Plus his superb tackle on Wood when all Woody had to do was lay it off to Barnes for a chance in the 1st half was exceptional

Cleverer than you will EVER be.
Re: Match thread vs Liverpool (A)
I don't know if anybody else heard it yesterday but we started the game with shirt numbers 1-11 and we were the first team to do it since August 1998. Who keeps these statistics?.
Re: Match thread vs Liverpool (A)
Yes. I think it was said that Charlton was the last in the year you've stated.

Re: Match thread vs Liverpool (A)
Can't fault what dyche has done for the club, but right now I'm really not sure if he's his own worst enemy in terms of just what he's looking for regarding fitting he's model, and as he said in an interview yesterday that's what prospective signings have to align to, imo he's simply looking for something he's never going to get, I've already posted on another thread, Ryan christie for example, 41 goals, 44 assists, in 149 appearances, what's not to like, and available for 5m absolute steal, this and a striker would totally transform this team, not the only signings we need but would keep us imo. Not sure if the cornet deal will come to fruition but can't see him fitting the model either, but unless someone comes in that can give us some impetus we've got a huge battle on this season I'm afraid. Surely there aren't going to be 3 teams who are Champions this season?BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 10:22 amThis.
