Not sure if there is a thread already....looked but might have missed it.
Burnley Women started their campaign with a 4-0 away win at Sheff United today....at least one Burnely team knows how to win!

It was 0-0 at half time, they made changes bringing on their new signing,Courtney Willis, who scored and was also fouled for a penalty which we scored.
Don't forget the other Burnlye team who won this weekend with the Under 18s winning away at Newcastle 8-3!

So the game is going to be split into 90 one minute clips? That’ll be fun to watch.

Top of the league after the 4-0 win. Let’s hope they can get another promotion.

What league do they play in, and how many promotions before we play the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal?

I think they are tier 4 but 3 huge steps up to get to the top league. Much bigger steps in terms of finance and player level than in the men's game.

1-4. 2 of which were in injury time.
Tactics wrong and not changed so lousy management in my opinion on this viewing.

Lost 0-3 away at Loughborough.Clarets Ladies play away against Fylde, who are top of the league after winning both their games, on Wednesday evening at the same time that we play at Newcastle.

I didn't watch the game because I was out watching local football, therefore, I am unable to comment. I just wish them well in their endeavours and will watch from afar when I can, however, my time is taken up with trying to promote grassroots football, particularly in respect of officials. The recruitment and retention of officials is becoming more and more difficult and, sadly, this will be reflected in years to come unless there is a big upsurge in interest.

Thanks NC, yes and it's been a problem not helped by the general lack of discipline over the years from some of the players and parents watching games.
As you usual Football seems to attract many social misfit where be it on the pitch or in the crowd.
I didn't expect a very high standard yesterday but was a tad disappointed in the tactics employed or rather not employed be the Burnley Coaching staff, still early days I suppose and I did welcome the chance to see the Women on live.

Highlights are on Clarets+ now
Pretty awful viewing defensively and the keeper can't seem to read long distance shots
Nicely well taken goal on the plus side

Football lovers will also be attracted to Women's football. Physically. it can never compete with the men's version, but tactically and technically it certainly can - and is doing. I think that it will grow and grow, especially due to current social trends.
Personally, I'm brushing up on my flicking finger in the hope that Subbuteo takes off soon.
