Links to an article with a misleading headline. The accepted bid is ours for Cornet.

I suspect we will do what United did with Varane and present him before the game with Leeds

Hoping for no cartouble on route to SD, where Cornet will proclaim it as The Day I Met God. No doubt MC will feel like he’s being fed to the lions on meeting the press. Also vital that he shows digital tenderness on social media and goes all out to make history.

I told him! I said “Don’t be Square be There. With McNeil, Wood, Barnes and Vydra you could be the final piece in our Magnificent Five”. He said that even though I was no Prince Charming, he would think about it.
I had to warn him though, I said “Don’t be no Puss’n Boots, you need to be Goody Two Shoes to get us Clarets off our seats”. Sadly, he couldn’t make the negotiations. Car Trouble

Hughes for 10m takes Palace spending to close to 60m for the summer. Viera under some intense pressure to deliver results.

Agree RE Hughes.
Deeney? Absolute gash these days. We’ve enough deadwood up top.
Not sure we were ever in for Hughes at all. As for Deeney, it’s seven years ago that we tried to sign him. I think that ship sailed and never passed our way again.

I’m not sure we are seriously interested in half the players mentioned on here, most of it seems to be unfounded twitter rumours or when we could be genuinely interested in people & get gazumped or the player decides to go elsewhere, a common line gets trotted out that we were never in for that player to start with.

With MT name mentioned on here i had a look on one boro afterwards & a few of them think it’s nonsense & if it wasn’t we would need to shell out more for him than gibson, think it was a daily mail article.

I’ve three possibles on my list at the moment from the info I’ve picked up. I don’t think it’s a secret that one of them is from a French club.

If we added Cornet, Ashley-Maitland Niles and Christie (as many posters on here are calling for) we wouldn't be far behind them

Christie starts for Celtic tonight in their European tie at AZ Alkmaar. So I'm not convinced he'll be going anywhere in this window.
Fully agree on Cornet, and AMN, that would be a decent window for once. And importantly improve our first XI and not just the squad.

Christie is leaving if the fee is matched, Celtic have little power. Why would he not start games? nobody has met the fee, at the moment he isn't leaving.

Christie's contract somewhat bizarrely ends half way through their season. He's available for free in January.

Your correct Celtic do have little power, clubs rarely do these days once a players enters the last year of their contract.
But RC could simply see out the rest of his contract, and then earn himself a nice signing on fee at his next club, due to being a free agent in a few months.
Indeed I believe Ryan Christie is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any interested parties.

There seem to be quite a few deals concluded on deadline day so you'd think they don't take that long when time is short.

I think at least one 8 figure signing is all but guaranteed in the coming days. Just depends how many targets we have to go through before we land one.
