Regarding Cornet, I know it’s only “highlights” I’ve seen on YouTube but he looks very average to me. Can’t believe we’re breaking our transfer record for him tbh- very UnDyche like but part of me glad we’re actually taking a risk for once.

Looks good to me here on a youtube highlights reel

Wonder why the French press are reporting he's having a medical today?
You would have to ask them but I know there has been no medical today although I suspect there will be one soon.

In fairness, it is difficult to judge how good a player is - especially from abroad.

I’m fairly confident we’ll like cornet though - I’ve seen him a few times in the champions league. Let’s say I never believed he’d be a Burnley target...

I hope they don't have to phone up and try and get hold of a GP to conduct the medical. Might not be an Appointment available until January!

Can't believe how many people on here think he's just a LB. He's played LB, LW, RW and striker in his relatively short career. I'm sure he will be used on the RW by Burnley but Sean will love his versatility and his pace.

Talking of 'Pace', the critics of Alan, may have to eat their words if this, and other signings come off. It seems he was determined to get his man and did so. For the doubters, it's to get behind the new board.

True that. His goal scoring record is impressive - especially after a season and a half at lwb. 1 in 5/6 in ligue 1 and the champions league can’t be denied.

Tony, why have you removed the 'Edit' facility. My last post is missing the word 'time' in the last sentence, so what's wrong with being able to correct it?

Man City winger Patrick Roberts has been told he can leave on a free.

Feels like he's been around forever but still only 24

I'm sure we were heavily linked with him a couple of years ago, he is a RW, but can also play on the left, or even in an attacking midfield role.

He seems to be one of those guys who's had a lot of loan moves, and if the Cornet deal was to fall through he wouldn't be a bad cheap option late in the window.

But if we land our main target I can't see why we'd need Roberts, although given his age, and the fact JBG is out of contract next year I think, then if we wanted to get a younger option in the building he's not a bad shout at all especially on a free.

After months of being told repeatedly ‘we have no money’, ‘Collins is our last bit of business’, ‘Hennessey is our last bit of business’ then a few posters will be holding their hands up after this signing.

EVERTON WANT MAITLAND-NILES ON LOAN

Everton want to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal.

The Toffees need a right-back and the Gunners are open to letting Maitland-Niles leave in this window.

Relations are good between the clubs following a number of deals between them in recent years, including Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott.

Hmm probably us out of the picture if Everton are involved. Having said that, he did state he wants to play in midfield and not full back.

Absolutely they are allowed a differing opinion. I haven’t suggested otherwise. To start whinging after the board have had less than 7 months here though wasn’t even giving them a chance and unfair.

CT mentioned this a while ago a poster was taking advantage of the edit facility to give out abuse (something like that anyway) so it has been removed for all users.

when you look at some of the positions he takes up in that video and some of his passing then Vydra simply has to play, Cornet clearly thrives when players around him have sharp movement. I'm genuinely excited about that prospect

There having been no movement in the betting market for several days on AMN in the last few hours his price has shortened up dramatically to 3/2 to join Everton. (Sky Bet)

If Everton are in for AMN, then we've no chance.

There having been no movement in the betting market for several days on AMN in the last few hours his price has shortened up dramatically to 3/2 to join Everton. (Sky Bet)
Probably due to Sky reporting this:

Everton want to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal.

The Toffees need a right-back and the Gunners are open to letting Maitland-Niles leave in this window.

Relations are good between the clubs following a number of deals between them in recent years, including Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott.

Looking for a RB, which is not his favourite position. Everton fans unimpressed, which just goes to show the difference in how fans look at transfers.

Everton want him on the bench and as RB cover.

If we are in with a loan and a buy clause in 6-12 mths, and if he is to play CM, I can’t see him choosing Everton unless the wages were hugely different.

Of course, we may not be in for him at all, could be all tittle tattle.

The same Maitland Niles that did nothing at West Brom last year? I’d rather we went for the Turkish lad they had

lets hope we sign cornet and he is everything we hoped for.

more importantly, A man who trained his dog to play the trumpet on the London underground said he went from Barking to Tooting in just over an hour.

Is he the guy who lives in Battersea at the dog's home? ;)

given the fact someone has broken our scouting system and allowed scouts to go further than Stoke I'm more than hopeful our options have dramatically improved, you could pluck any midfielder from any La Liga starting eleven and it would give us more ability on the ball than we currently have
