Always going to be difficult when playing catch up from the past few disastrous windows but a decent window all in all. Hopefully it’s convinced Dyche to sign the new deal. Shame we couldn’t get the attacking midfielder in as our lack of goals is a worry.

Well after massive debate on this thread, 10,000+ comments , I think this has been a great window, and a fantastic start to the rebuild of our squad. It been stated on numerous occasions that it will take a good few windows to get it done, but this is a great start.

For people to be popping corks over a great window just shows how far we have gone down. If we had a match saturday none of the 4 "great" signing would be playing, great improvement.

All of you flapping about us not strengthening central midfield need to just take a chill pill and see where we are at the end of the window.

Not all teams especially the top teams have a hole to fill in this position. Not every team wants this type of player. How often do you see a bidding war on a player consisting of shed loads of teams.. rarely.. I hope you wake up happier tomorrow! I certainly will knowing burnley have strengthened the squad and we'll have more options from the bench

8/10 window for me.
A shame missing out on Christie or another CM but we have definitely increased in quality and good cover for each position. But glad to see we kept hold Tarks, McNeil, Wood etc
Dyche to sign a new deal soon to make it a 9/10.
The new owners have shown they're willing to back Dyche and it made a good change actually being excited checking the new on deadline day in the hope of further signings. Let's hope the rebuild continues in future windows.

All I will say for certain is that there’s 9 minutes of the window left.
Edit - now 8 minutes.

i'm really hoping the signing of Cornet will free up McNeil in some games, he was superb away at Palace when he was given the ability to play through the middle. If Cornet can play left and right that's a bonus too

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
After the signing of Hennessey, Collins and Lennon I had it as a 4 out of 10 window, the signing of Cornet pushed it up to a 6.5 and Robert’s today a 7.5, the latter 2 signings being genuine first team starters So after the disappointing previous windows we have had one that I pretty chuffed about.

Serge Aurier has agreed to terminate his Tottenham contract by mutual consent, a player who originally cost them £20 million I think it was.

Aside from the toe curling pant wetting giddiness of some , it’s been an encouraging window, we’ve “ injury proofed” the squad ,with a top keeper and 2 younger players while covering the RB and right sided problems with the hopefully exiting Cornet. This should give our midfield a bit more breathing space, releasing Dwight and possibly allowing the better movement and skills of Vydra and Jay R to feature more. Onwards and upwards

Thank mate. I get the need to point out other people's crap I've done it myself but I'm all about being able to be honest with myself and admit when I've been wrong or need to change. It's nothing to be ashamed of, it's all part of development and life. Thank you for your well wishes and good luck to you in your endeavours too!Claretpants wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:53 pmWell said C&J i found the comment sad given your previous brave open post and just thought the poster wasnt aware

Great window. Slightly tainted by Christie turning us down, but equally not interested in fussy players that don’t want to work for the shirt. Roberts’ attitude was the complete opposite & exactly what we want!
Most pleasing aspects for me:
1. We’ve kept our core squad together, which I always felt was critical.
2. We appear to be looking a level above where we have before. Here’s hoping that continues, and if it does we might be glad Christie went to Bournemouth come January.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Really liking the Roberts and Cornet signings. Not only do they (in theory) improve our first eleven, but they both can play in multiple positions, which is a bonus for a club such as ours. As others have said, we now have the personnel to try a 4-5-1 or a 3-5-2 on occasion.
Would have ideally liked a centre mid and to freshen up the strikers, but I'm glad we've addressed the Right back situation as I've felt for a while that it is one of our weakest positions, even though both Bardsley and Lowton have performed well when asked.
