First season for me and after initially thinking it would something that I start and then forget about, I’ve somehow managed to achieve a respectable mid-table finish

I had started the new season last week after successfully recruiting the requisite number of new managers.

However, 1 has just quit! Therefore we have another new vacancy available for anyone who fancies giving this a go.

The Clarets season is over, the Euros are still a couple of weeks ago, what else are you gonna do for your footy fix?

Hello everyone, both existing managers and those of you who I'd like to consider potential managers.

Xpert11's Clarets Championship will shortly be back for a 60th(!) season. For this milestone I would love to have a full complement of managers. The current season is getting close to completion and at the moment 2 sides are without a gaffer.

There are plenty of testimonials in this thread already, and I can't guarantee you'll have a good time, but from my own personal experience I keep coming back to this little game. It's not a time-drainer (unless you want it to be), and you can easily run a successful team by logging in twice a week for 5 minutes only. The stattoes amongst us *raises hand* can spend hours poring over facts and figures but that says more about me than anything else.

If you fancy a bash (or even if you are a previous player who wants to come back), the next post will have all the details you will need to submit an application. You can either apply for one of the two existing managerless teams, or start a brand new side in the bottom division.

Well worth your time, it's good fun. There's also an app but I think most people prefer to use the website. Like Falcon says, can easily get by with just 5 minutes a couple of times a week but most people will spend more as they enjoy it.

I definitely recommend this game! For starters, it's completely free. There's no pay to win -- I've never paid a penny. Great fun (especially when you're winning!). After being relegated from the top flight last season, my team have been promoted as champions at the first time of asking. Largely thanks to a rock solid defence I've nicknamed "The Steel Curtain"! The transfer window is now open and I'm keen to bolster my midfield before the new season begins. Go on, give it a try!

Hello everyone. It's once again the close season, and we have availability for new manager applications.

If anyone is reading this, who has seen these posts on the forum before but never taken the plunge, or if you've played before but fell off the wagon, or anywhere in between, I thoroughly recommend giving it a bash. We have currently 41 very committed managers coaching their imaginary lads and we'd love to add some more people to the mix.

It's a very simple game to pick up and won't take up your entire life a la FM. Just a casual experience but rewarding nonetheless when your side gets a promotion or, for the very lucky, wins the league.

I've managed to take a team that finished bottom of the entire pyramid the season before I took over to the top flight in 7 seasons. Not that that is the be all and end all, it's all about the journey, but just to give you an idea of how quickly you can make an impact on a team. It's a good fun game that doesn't take much time at all (unless you want it to!).

Well worth giving it a try.

Season 61 of the Clarets Championship is one week from completion. It has been another great season, full of twists and turns, but sadly one of our managers has chosen to play no longer, so we have a vacancy for an existing team.

On top of that, I am always happy to accept new team applications as well.

I've been playing this game for a few years now (there are some who have been playing it far longer!) and it remains good fun. This season, my team have led the top flight for most of the season although we're currently in second and two points behind the leaders. Oh, and my keeper got injured in the last game and I now have to field a youth player in the final two crunch matches (one of which is against the current league leaders!). Frustrating but all part of the fun of it. As Falcon has said, there have been plenty of twists and turns this season. Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to challenging for the title again next season. Anyway, highly recommended. It's good fun without being too complicated or time-consuming (and it's free).
