Most sports punditry from the BBC is embarrassing in the extreme - they are more concerned in ticking the racial/minority/region/gender etc boxes than in employing people based on the 2 key criteria needed -
- An in-depth knowledge of the game
- Literate
If the pundit is a bit of a "character" then they think it makes up for it
Yay, we got there in the end...

As soon as I found we were on last I went to bed,it's typical BBC shoite.
Except we weren't - although if you looked at the fixtures (and results) we were never likely to be one of the first games.

Including only part of the team to try to distort the statistics to support your argument is probably a sign that you are wrong.
Here's one to get you angry: 100% of the Micahs on the programme were black. All of 'em. It's political correctness gone mad.
The post concerned pundits - there were 2 of them so no distortion.

Limiting your claim of box ticking to the recruitment of just pundits gives even less credibility to your argument.

It's not just the BBC or Match of the Day, it's all the media now that finds us uninteresting. We were at one time the 'breath of fresh air', the new boys making a bit of a splash by upsetting the odds. But since then a number of 'breaths of fresh air' have come and gone (Sheffield United, Norwich), whilst we stubbornly refuse to slink away, knowing our place. Burnley sticking around longer than they have a right to isn't a story, hence the almost universal wall of indifference.

The reason the pundits don’t talk about Burnley is because we aren’t an issue. We are a solid lower to mid table club that will only become interesting when beating the top six. Far from an insult it tells you none among them expect us to be in any trouble again this year, no major headlines.

this north london derby is all the bbc are bothered about. motd tonight is perfect for them, hardly any other football to show, and the inevitable ex players from both teams who are also inevitably pundits on the programme. the radio bias is extraordinarily swayed towards these two teams on a daily basis.
whilst we are struggling at the moment, the onus should be on this sort of programme to be fair minded to ALL clubs in the division, but it isn't.

Ooooh, sorry love, GB News, my bad - I was following your example of posting having had one or two too many......
I apologise profusely to you and the other 17, 999 ardent viewers.
Such viewing figures ! You must be very proud.
Anyway, back to MOTD - I guess the thing to do if the editing or punditry is not to your taste then don't watch it.

Suspect he’ll be able to say the same about GB News in a few months time.

Not sure why people struggle to understand that most viewers of these shows aren’t particularly interested in Burnley, or Norwich, or Watford.
They aren’t going to be gushing over us having a good player just because it’s a novelty for us

The flagship, brave new world, no quotas, no agenda, no tick boxes news channel is currently pulling in er, 18,000 viewers. The Teletubbies get more than that...

Something nobody has picked up on is why does it appear that Tarkowski is celebrating Leicester's 2nd goal as it hits the back of the net

Just watched MOTD and saw that myself. What’s confusing is that the freeze frame doesn’t appear to be the official VAR freeze frame with the blue and green lines like we saw for Salah’s goal. Why didn’t we get to see that on any of today’s coverage?
..... Because salah plays for livarpool. Different rules for them.
