Re: Tonights Game
It's almost as if Dyche wants to stick with Cork, just to show the fans he knows better. Only on this occasion he doesn't.
Nor a terrible line up, but not attractive one either.
I like Vyds and Jay, but they don't compliment each other.
If you are going g to persist with 442, then at least play 2 players that know each others game, strengths and weaknesses. Jack doesn't compliment anybody nowadays, and Josh is nowhere near strong enough to carry him.
Cornet needs to be wrapped in cotton wool, so I can't argue saving him for Saturday, but without him we were onto a loser before a ball was kicked. Despite Spurs underwhelming performance.
I don't believe Sean knows what our best XI is, but his stubbornness is biting us on the arse.

Whether you think the complaining is childish or not, if things don't change soon the frustration is going to become increasingly vociferous.

Can't wait for Brentford to play us off the park on Saturday.

Re: Tonights Game
A tight game against a good side, and we're League One standard?
If Cornet had come on at the 60 min mark, every chance we took that game to pens.

Some encouraging signs toward the end there, not a million miles off, just need to get some confidence back.

Re: Tonights Game
Terrible game
Beaten by a lucky goal
Spurs time wasting once they go 1 up
We have no bench

Re: Tonights Game
If nothing else these performances should help make minds up as to whose contract needs to be extended, and where we can save a wage. Also gives us time to start finding replacements in January. At least Vydra and Rodriguez had a chance tonight but looks like both were poor

Barnes and Wood were no better. Spurs centre halves won’t have an easier game!warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 9:41 pmIf nothing else these performances should help make minds up as to whose contract needs to be extended, and where we can save a wage. Don’t worry we always start the season badly, we’ll turn the corner soon because we’re actually playing some good football. Anyway if we go down we will come straight back up won’t we? Seriously, I’m concerned about this coming Saturday. I just don’t know where a win is coming from.

if ever there was a time for keeping players fit then tonight was it. A meaningless cup comp is no use to us especially in our current league predicament.

Re: Tonights Game
Not great again to say the least, but IF we win on Saturday tonight will be quickly forgotten, however given our present form that's a big if I'm afraid.
At least I got some points on the prediction game, so that's small consolation.
Brentford won at Stoke tonight, even with a number of changes, so they'll be heading north on a high, and it'll be tough at the weekend.

Re: Tonights Game
Pieters frustrating all night, Cork pretty lack lustre and Barnes looked like he'd given up the second he missed his first pass.
I really think we could have given tonight a proper go and give us the catalyst that got us to the play off finals back in '09!
Great saves by Pope - but totally thawrted an opportunity for us at the end of the game. Although Collins, Robert's and Cornet are bright eyed and bushy tailed, I just think half our squad has lost that little twinkle in their eyes that keeps them going. Really hope we get a run together soon! Dyche is good, but he's no miracle worker if nothing comes before christmas!

I don’t know where this list of targets theory has come from. According to some on here signings like Stephens and Vydra weren’t Dyche targets yet we ended up signing them!

You spent ALL summer moaning about England in the Euros (who didn't lose a game, apart from 1 pen shootout), now you're Mr Positive about a side who can't win for toffee?

Re: Tonights Game
That's the problem with cup comps for us, Dyche is so set in his ways that somebody could have had an absolute blinder tonight, and it won't make a bit of difference to Saturdays team that is no doubt already picked..

Re: Tonights Game
The club? The chairman.
The playing team? The manager.
Not many managers identify and buy the players these days. I understood it was Rigg and Garlick who made our signings. Obviously they would have consulted the manager and he had the final say but if Rigg only identify what we ended up signing it’s not Dyche’s fault is it?
Re: Tonights Game
Why all the negativity, we’ve lost by a narrow margin to one of the founders of the European super league, and they didn’t look that great!

Re: Tonights Game
Credit to Pope tonight, a couple of absolutely outstanding saves.
Brownhill was decent. Cork got better second half, but still struggling.
4 Strikers played and none of them looked anything like threatening.
The game only changed when Cornet came on. Oh and that throw of Roberts is outstanding, we need to utilise that.
80 minutes we were awful, last ten we woke up, but it was too little too late.
